Wrexham.com’s fuel price monitor is back! This time it relies on the UK Government’s new system that came into being via the Motor Fuel Price (Open Data) Regulations 2025, which came into force in February 2026.
It requires every petrol filling station in the UK — around 8,300 forecourts — to electronically report their fuel prices to the government. The data is input by the retailers themselves, either automatically through their electronic point-of-sale systems via an API, or manually through a secure web portal, SMS, or telephone. By law, any price change must be reported within 30 minutes.
Wrexham.com and others can use this data to give you information about local fuel prices. Our first version of the system is now live showing you that information, with some tweaks as it seems the UK Gov data has some quirks – some petrol stations located in the North Sea, some petrol prices at 1.5p a litre or £15. Others are not regularly updating prices, so it would be wrong to show them as the cheapest when they might not be.
Not enough recent data to generate a summary.

As the data is collected we will display some wider analysis / stats.
