Teddy bear methods

This article appeared in April 2014, based on a 99 second talk I gave at TestBash 3 in Brighton in March. It’s about how we can get fixated on highly prescriptive methods, not because they work, but because they offer comforting reassurance as a struggle to cope with a difficult job.
