All consultation services are voluntary and confidential.
The cost of each serious, other-than-serious and posting
requirement OSHA violation can be cited up to $16,131 per hazard instance. For the employer, effective safety management can be seen as an investment to increase productivity and reduce accidents and injuries. As an investment, savings are earned from the prevention of injuries and accidents. Having a strong safety culture not only promotes a healthy environment that helps motivate workers, but also saves money by avoiding preventable costs.
Using a no cost consultation service, employers can find out about potential hazards at their worksites, improve their safety and health programs, and even qualify for a one-year exemption from routine OSHA inspections.
This service is provided by well-trained professional staff by the Delaware Department of Labor. Consultation visits can be conducted for the entire workplace or limited to specific areas or processes.
This safety and health consultation program is completely separate from the OSHA inspection effort. In addition, no citations are issued or penalties proposed. Your only obligation will be to correct hazards identified by the consultants.
