For NaPoWriMo Day 13, I’m using my own poem/prompt today.

Web of dreams, or web of lies seizing thoughts,
Hovering, holding nightmares, is it ever enough?
Prayers and petitions, forgiveness of sins realized — a sudden assurance, a promise innate?
A gigantic world, once a friendly place, great hope received.
There’s luminosity in the sky, despite great costs;
Sola finia grace I comprehend, blends with the need to aid others; is it ever enough?
No, but by grace alone I’ve rest.
Black twilight, the night dims and shatters,
It’s not safe, it’s not real, but somehow life’s been compromised.
Nightmare land of wicked lies — Heaven’s angel’s yet glimmer.
There’s hope, and I’m still alive flailing;
I can’t pay for past sins, but God forgives despite.
Repent, repent, I do so many times;
Too many errors, though one tries, and tries.
Heart beats loud, thumps, and aches;
Until you realize, there’s forgiveness, despite law — there’s grace.
I’m allowed to leave, I’m allowed to go,
Crumbles of stone, aggregate, and frustration;
Crumbles of dreams and past memories.
Oh God, hear my prayers, my fervent regrets;
Please forgive me even here,
Where the wolves howl, my resting place forbidden.
Relieve my spirit, take me home,
Assure life’s bearable.
See me through the starless sky, the coldness of night;
Remain steadfast, so I pray, retain faith.
Take me home wherever that maybe — that’s all I desire;
To discover a land of valleys, balmy days of freedom,
To recover security, for I fear to exist here longer.
I pray for my loved ones, for Heaven’s magnificent expanse.
Your will present in my every breath,
And apres Easter weekend, purple silk still flies in remembrance;
Your resurrection celebrated, no matter.
Home assured in Your presence, Your benevolence;
No more wolves, no nightmares;
Simple grace from You saves, You are deliverance.
