Frequently Asked Questions
What exactly is a Wolf’s Edge Fractional COO (Integrator)?
Wolf’s Edge Fractional COOs are seasoned executives who have built and led successful businesses, and now help others do the same by becoming their strategic right-hand leader. They serve as the Integrator (COO or #2 leaders) on your leadership team, partnering with you to remove chaos, strengthen your team, and drive execution across the business.
They are not project managers or meeting facilitators. They are leaders who align people, solve problems, and get the business moving forward without you needing to be in the weeds.
What types of Integrators do you offer?
We offer three types of Integrators, each designed for different stages of growth:
- Operational Integrator: Helps early-stage or operationally chaotic companies build systems, structure, and consistency.
- Conductor Integrator: Ideal for businesses with an existing leadership team that needs alignment, accountability, and traction.
- Executive Integrator: Built for companies preparing to scale aggressively or already running at a high level. This Integrator brings strategic leadership and experience scaling organizations at size.
Each type brings a high level of experience and focus, matched to where your company is, and where you want to go.
How do I know which type of Integrator I need?
Take the MOAA Assessment to find out. It’s a free tool we developed to help business owners understand their current business stage, current type of integrator and what they need to reach their desired stage.
It only takes a few minutes and gives you instant insight into where your business stands and what kind of support would move the needle most. You can take the assessment here.
How exactly does a Wolf’s Edge Fractional COO / Integrator work?
Your Wolf’s Edge COO, Integrator, or #2 leader spends the first few weeks meeting with you, your leadership team, and other key employees to understand your business, how things work, where the issues are, and what’s important.
We deliver a proposed Chaos to Control Roadmap™, align with you on priorities, and begin driving execution.
We do this through weekly Same Page Meetings, leading weekly Level 10 meetings, meeting with leadership team members one-on-one, driving execution of priorities, and owning strategic Rocks like replacing key hires, rolling out tech platforms, or coaching teams on process documentation.
What results should I expect in the first 30/60/90 days?
In the first 30 days, we focus on understanding your business, building relationships, and diagnosing key pain points. By day 45, we present your customized Chaos to Control Roadmap™.
In the next 30 days, we align your team around the plan, establish meeting rhythms, clarify roles, and begin coaching your leaders.
By 90 days, you’ll see tangible momentum: clearer accountability, improved communication, and measurable traction toward your goals.
How much does it cost to work with a Wolf’s Edge Fractional COO / Integrator?
Our monthly retainers typically range from $5,500–$12,000 depending on the type of integrator you need, and the requirements your business has to scale.
Our clients require high-level strategic leadership from someone who’s owned or run a business before—not just a project manager. Our rates reflect the experience required to truly move the needle.
Can I work with you if I already have a COO or Integrator in place?
Yes. We often support businesses in transition. If you have an existing COO or Integrator, we can:
- Coach and develop them through our Integrator Coaching service
- Supplement their leadership while they grow into the role
- Help you assess whether a different fit is needed
Whether you’re trying to level-up your current #2 or replace them with a long-term solution, we’ll help you get clear and move forward.
How long does an engagement typically last?
Most engagements last between 12–24 months. The goal is to get your business running without daily involvement from the owner and either elevate someone internally or hire a long-term full-time Integrator.
How much time will the COO / Integrator spend on my business each week?
We don’t bill by the hour. We focus on outcomes.
That said, most of our Integrators dedicate 1 to 1.5 days per week to each client. You get consistent, senior-level leadership with the flexibility of a fractional engagement.
How do you match me with the right COO / Integrator?
After your discovery and proposal calls, we introduce the Integrator on our team who we believe is the best fit based on:
- Availability
- Ability to solve your challenges
- Personality fit
- Relevant industry experience
If it’s not the right match, we’ll find someone who is.
Who is a Wolf’s Edge Fractional COO / Integrator for—and not for?
We are for business owners who:
- Want to build a self-managing business
- Are ready to partner with an experienced executive
- Need real traction—not more meetings
We are not for:
- Owners who just need a meeting facilitator or project manager
- Teams without at least two other leaders beyond the founder
- Businesses looking for only minor tweaks
13. What’s the difference between a Fractional COO / Integrator and an EOS Implementer®?
An EOS Implementer runs full-day sessions and teaches the EOS® tools. They don’t execute in between sessions.
Your Wolf’s Edge Integrator joins your team, owns execution, and drives the actual implementation. They are accountable for results—not just facilitation.
We recommend working with both. That way, the Implementer focuses on EOS education while your Integrator drives the day-to-day.
To learn more about the EOSi role, take a look at this resource.
Do I need to be using EOS to work with Wolf’s Edge?
No. But your business must use some kind of structure.
If you’re working with another cohesive structure like Scaling Up, Pinnacle, BOS-Up, or another one, we’ll work with you and your coach as your #2 Leader.
If you’re not already using some other specific business operation system, we use EOS because it works, and all of our clients use EOS tools to some extent—either before working with us or once we begin the engagement.
Think of EOS like a shared language that helps us move faster, make better decisions, and avoid confusion.
What’s the difference between a COO / Integrator and a VP / Head of Ops / GM?
The COO / #2 Leader / Integrator leads the leadership team and ensures the whole business is aligned and executing the vision. Everyone on the leadership team reports to them—even in a fractional role.
A VP of Ops or GM is one member of that team, focused on running day-to-day operations and delivering the product or service.
At Wolf’s Edge, we focus only on the strategic 20% of the role as your Integrator. Someone on your team handles the operational 80% and reports to us.
What makes Wolf’s Edge different from other Fractional COO firms?
- Every Integrator has owned or led a business
- We don’t just give advice, we drive execution
- We give you a roadmap, traction, and results
What happens after the engagement ends?
Our goal is never to stay forever. We help:
- Promote someone internally into the COO/Integrator role
- Hire a long-term external Integrator
- Transition out with a leadership team that can run the business without us
You keep the systems, structure, and clarity. We step away.
Do you work with businesses outside the U.S.?
Yes! While most of our clients are in the U.S. or Canada, we also support companies in other English-speaking countries. If your team operates in English and the time zones are compatible we can likely help.
How do I know if I’m ready for a Fractional Integrator?
You may be ready if:
- You’re in the weeds and can’t scale further
- Your team isn’t fully accountable
- You feel stuck despite big goals
If you’re unsure, take the MOAA Assessment to find out what kind of support you actually need.
