WISA Design Build Remodel is a family-founded, design-build firm serving Northern Virginia’s most discerning homeowners. We handle everything — design, architecture, and construction — with one in-house team, one fixed-cost contract, and one standard of quality from the first conversation to the final walkthrough.
We started as a family operation and we still run like one. Waris leads every client relationship personally. His father manages our crews in the field every day. Our designers, architect, and project managers are all part of the same team — not a network of subcontractors assembled project by project. When you work with WISA, you know who’s in your home and you know they’ve been doing this for a long time.
We work on basements, additions, kitchens, bathrooms, and whole-home remodels. But what we really do is take complex projects — the ones that require structural work, full system upgrades, and design that actually holds up — and make them feel manageable. That’s what we mean when we say uncomplicated luxury.
We believe remodeling should feel personal, not transactional. Here's what that looks like in practice.
Our 25 to 30 installers are WISA employees, and most have been with us for over a decade. That means the people who design your space are connected to the people who build it. There’s no game of telephone between subcontractors. Just one team, one standard, and Waris’s father on-site daily, making sure every detail is right.
We do the hard work upfront so there are no surprises later. That means opening soffits, verifying conditions, and taking final measurements before we ever put a contract in front of you. When we give you a number, it’s a fixed-cost agreement. What we quote is what you pay.
We know your days are full. That’s why we offer Zoom design meetings when you can’t make it to our design center, bring finish selections directly to your home, and send a personal Loom video before your first call so you already know the face and voice on the other end. Our process bends to fit yours, not the other way around.
To build spaces that bring families closer — through design that’s thoughtful, construction that’s honest, and a process that respects your time, your home, and your investment.
These aren't words on a wall. They're the decisions we make on every project, every day.
We tell you what things cost, what’s realistic, and what we’d do if it were our own home — before you ask.
Our team is our standard. We don’t outsource quality control to people we don’t know.
Every space we build is designed for the way real families actually live — not just for how it looks in photos.
We do the work upfront so the number we give you is the number you pay.
Our clients don’t just become customers. They become people we stay in touch with long after the project is done.

We’ve designed our process around one idea: you should feel confident and cared for at every step, from the very first conversation to the final walkthrough.
I didn’t set out to build a remodeling company. I set out to build something with my father.
It started in 2008, when my father began doing fix-and-flips in Northern Virginia. I joined him in 2010, working in commercial flooring and learning the trade from the ground up. By 2011, we were licensed. By 2014, we were building for clients — taking on additions, new builds, and the kinds of complex remodels that required more than a general contractor but more care than a big design-build firm.
The name WISA was never a marketing decision. It’s an acronym built from the first letters of my siblings’ names and mine. It’s a quiet reminder that this company started as, and still is, a family effort.
What I learned early, and still believe, is that transparency is the only way to build trust. Most contractors hide their prices. I talk about them openly. Most firms oversell and under-deliver. We educate first and earn the project from there. Most remodelers treat a signed contract as the finish line. For us, it’s the starting point.
Over the past decade, we’ve grown from a warehouse showroom in Lorton into a 12,000-square-foot design center, with a team of designers, an in-house architect, and a crew of 25 to 30 installers who have been with us for years. The projects have grown too, from straightforward additions to luxury basements, whole-home transformations, and spaces that homeowners didn’t know were possible until we showed them what their house could become.
The goal has always been the same: do the work right, be honest about everything, and build spaces that families never want to leave.
