This module will introduce the topic of violence against women (VAW). First, we will provide an introduction and general overview of what the section encompasses. We will briefly introduce its history and cite the most important entities addressing the problems. Lastly, we will provide an outline of the subtopics covered.
About This Topic
Freedom from violence, stigma and stereotypes addresses the following violations. These are not the only topics defined as violence against women, but show the breadth related to this module. The topics covered include: Non-State Torture (NST) of Women and Girls, Human Trafficking, Femicides, Domestic Violence, Intimate Partner Violence, Violence against Children, Child Marriage, Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and Engaging Men.
