Freedom from Violence, Stigma and Stereotypes Module Contributor

Danielle Gonzalez is a rising senior in Environmental Engineering from Tijuana, Mexico currently studying in Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI). She recently completed a project with the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) regarding light pollution and citizen science. As a suggestion to broaden diversity in citizen science, she proposed further investigating violence and gender violence as a barrier for citizen scientists. Additionally, she wrote an Op-Ed piece on Gender Violence being one of the greatest threats for women in Mexico during the COVID-19 pandemic. Asides from the previous research, she constantly advocates for gender equality through protests and by educating my peers on femicides and gender violence in Mexico.
