So I haven't even had a chance to really crack the archive (I've basically been busy or lazy for a week straight), so I haven't talked about Yuletide at all, which is a shame because YULETIDE ROCKED MY WORLD THIS YEAR. I mean it was really great all around. No offense to other years, but this was the least anxiety I had about writing for Yuletide, and it was just all around fantastic. Hello there! First off, I have to apologize for the fact that I tend to write DYW letters and then second guess every single word of it because I have a tendency to just randomly blab and my letters aren't as awesome as other letters. It's just me being like "blah blah blah idk i like fic and fic is cool and i like you and idk i like everything!" which is probably not very helpful. So I hope you find at least one helpful thing in here, despite my total dorkiness.

The good news for you, dear Yuletide writer, is that just the thought of someone writing a fic for me is enough to make me gleeful. Which means I am pretty damn easy to please (at least I tend to think so). I just want you to have fun writing whatever you're going to write, don't stress over it and give yourself headaches or toothaches over it, just let it happen and as long as you enjoy it, I will too.

So I decided to sign-up for Round 2 of Trope Bingo, ahahahaha. Thankfully I got amnesty on Round 1 because I did write two fics back in January, but as you may know, my life took a crap the first weekend in February and injuries and illnesses kept me from being able to write.

Surprise surprise, I got assigned to write for Revenge. I'm sure you are all very shocked. I was really excited because my lovely recipient requested the three people I would most want to write for (Nolan, Emily & Charlotte)! But then because I am such a self-loathing idiot, I stressed out about it to the point of utter madness. MADNESS. And it's not the recipient's fault, I promise! It was allllllll mine. I genuinely don't think it's even close to my best work (and oh how the comment count shows it, lol), but the recipient was SO LOVELY and left me the NICEST comment I have ever received. I mean, it's crazy how nice that is. Like, how do you even top that? You just don't. And pleasing the recipient is all I really needed to make it worth my time. (Especially after last year's debacle.)

I wrote this for Kacey, because a) I love Kacey and b) Her DYW letter was fantastic and it just made the whole thing click in my head really quickly. I had a lot of fun writing this one (maybe I get too stressed when something is my main assignment but a treat for fun is easier? IDEK where my head is at half the time.). It was just easy and fun and though I did momentarily shit myself with worry over capturing Fat Amy's voice, I realized that like 98% of any combination of words would sound funny coming out of Rebel Wilson's mouth, so I just got on with it and it was fine. In any case, this was clearly my most successful fic of Yuletide, and it even got recced a couple times which was nice to see! (And if you were following us on Twitter, oh man, KACEY LIVETWEETED HER EMOTIONS OVER THIS FIC ON TWITTER AND I HAVE HAD TO KEEP MY MOUTH SHUT THAT I WROTE IT FOR A WEEK. IT HAS BEEN REALLY DIFFICULT BUT SO WORTH IT.)

So my Yuletide was a bit of a roller coaster at times, but ultimately it turned out really good. Like, I actually feel really revitalized about writing again, and energized and ready to start 2013 in a good place with that. Yuletide taught me a lot about my strengths and weaknesses, and things to do or not to do for next year's Yuletide, so I feel good about it.

I know how much time, energy and heart gets put into Yuletide writing every year and I appreciate that you are doing that for lil' ol' me. You = awesome.

Well, what's going on in my life?

...

Not much.

Last I wrote in here I was talking about going to Bakersfield for my uncle's surgery and that has passed. He's doing well but has a long recovery ahead of him as the surgery ended up being more extensive than they intially thought. My Uncle from Ohio is coming out at the end of this month and we'll be going back to Bakersfield to visit the other uncle for a day and then on to Los Angeles for a couple days. So there's that.

Other than that, life is just me driving people places and being boringly domestic and injuring my knee while exercising (I THOUGHT EXERCISE WAS SUPPOSED TO BE GOOD FOR YOU) and basically being lost and confused all the time. So. Yay. Hi. I thought this was going to be a longer post, but that's that. Just checking in. Most people here follow me on Twitter which is where you get the daily updates anyway. So. Yep.
