From April through June, Coastal Virginia becomes a key stopover for the Great Migration, as thousands of birds pass through on their journey north. UNIQUE EVENTS

Coastal Virginia is home to some of the most unique and fun-filled events on the East Coast, where history and high-flying excitement come to life. Air Power Over Hampton Roads returns April 26–27 to Joint Base Langley-Eustis, featuring the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds, F-22 Raptor Demo Team, STEM exhibits, a kids’ zone, beer garden, and more. Admission is free, with VIP seating available for an upgraded experience.

Then, relive the Golden Age of Piracy at the Blackbeard Pirate Festival, May 31–June 1 in Downtown Hampton. The waterfront transforms into a 1718 seaport filled with pirate reenactors, music, arts and crafts, vendors, and family-friendly activities—all capped off with a spectacular fireworks show.
