VAIO Quick Web Access is a lightweight, instant-on browsing environment developed by Sony Corporation for select VAIO notebooks. It lets you get online within seconds—without starting Windows—so you can quickly check email, search the web, and use web apps when time matters. Launched via the dedicated WEB button on supported models, it offers a streamlined interface with familiar browser essentials and keeps its data separate from your Windows installation. When you’re ready for a full desktop session, simply exit to boot into Windows.

At this time Java 7 is an unstable version that is still in testing. Even the Java console is unstable, it locked up on my system and could NOT be shut down short of rebooting.
