- Your gift rebuilds houses, restores stability, and brings Sarasota Counties families home
Financial hardship touches all ages, races, and household types, and recent hurricanes have only deepened the crisis.
In the last several years, storms like Ian, Idalia, Milton, Debby, and Helene damaged more than 70,000 Sarasota Counties homes. Families faced everything from roof leaks and mold to total devastation. For those already struggling paycheck to paycheck, recovery has been overwhelming.
At United Way of South Sarasota County, we’ve been on the ground since day 1 — and we’re still there today. For 2 years and counting, we’ve been:
- Rebuilding homes from the ground up
- Making critical repairs so families can live safely again
- Helping seniors return home after being displaced
- Restoring hope for children and families whose lives were uprooted
- This isn’t quick relief work. It’s long-term, neighbor-to-neighbor rebuilding — and it’s far from over
