Open Access

As part of our mission to enlighten readers, foster cultural dialogue, and improve the quality of life for the people of Tennessee and around the world, UT Press is committed to publishing affordable and widely available content wherever possible.

UT Press’s open-access imprint, Newfound Press, supports readers by exploring open approaches to scholarly communication across a wide array of topics, genres, and formats.

The press also offers select titles through Tennessee Research and Creative Exchange (TRACE), the University of Tennessee’s open-access, publicly available digital repository.

Additionally, the press participates in the JSTOR Path to Open project, which “provide[s] libraries with affordable access to diverse, high-quality frontlist titles; support[s] small and medium university presses in open access publishing; help[s] authors reach a global audience; and advance[s] equity of access to underserved researchers around the world.”
