WHEN THE WAVES OF TIME WASH OVER 2016 IT WILL BE GONE FOREVER – MAKE THE BEST OF IT!

Once again a big “THANK YOU” to all followers, visitors and email-receivers of “Unwalled” around the globe for your support, comments, words of encouragement and willingness to share my content so others could be blessed also.

And also again, a big “THANK YOU” to those of you who shared your heartaches, challenges, problems and dreams with me last year; know that I do not take your trust and confidence for granted and count it a privilege to have been able to help you in some way.

Most of all, I thank God for His grace and faithfulness because without Him, none of this would be possible and it is my prayer that He continues to use “Unwalled” to encourage, edify and inspire you and many others in 2016.

Below are 10 totally random, but wise, musings that will help you in 2016……..I wrote them as they came so here they are.

HABITS

What Will You Choose?

GOALS

If you set out and fall down, fall back, or fall off, get up and start again.

Even if you have to start again 1000 times with the sound of mockers ringing in your ears, get up and start again.

Just do it!

PEOPLE

When God wants to bless you, He will often send a person/persons into your life.

When the enemy wants to destroy you, he will often send a person/persons into your life.

Whether online or in person, be discerning of people who show up in your life and want to connect with you.

Ask God to show you the real deal.

ATTACHMENTS & TIES

Be careful who and what you attach yourself to mentally, emotionally, physically, spiritually, sexually, financially or socially, particularly when you are experiencing pain or adversity.

Attachments are easily made but not as easily broken.

This is because of soul ties, unseen yet very real ties whose power, and sometimes very existence, you will never know until its time to let someone or something go, or to give someone or something up.

Be careful who and what you attach yourself to this year.

TIME

On what, where, when, how, and with whom you spend your time tells the true story of your priorities, your character, your life.

Spend your time wisely!

SOCIAL MEDIA

Will you use social media this year, or will social media use you?

LEADERSHIP

“Leadership is not a position that you occupy, but an influence that you exert”. – (Unknown)

This year, be mindful of your influence.

OBEDIENCE

Will you obey and please God at the expense of people or obey and please people at the expense of God?

Though hard at times because of the backlash, retaliation, verbal assassination, and negative vibes and attitudes, the former is always better than the latter.

REJECTION

There will be rejection.

Instead of as an enemy, see rejection as a gift.

It is often through rejection that we experience isolation, and through isolation that we better hear the voice of God and have the opportunity to experience clarity, instruction and exponential growth.

WORSHIP

The first mention of the word “worship” in the Bible is found in Genesis 22:5 concerning Abraham as he sought to obey God about sacrificing Isaac, his son of promise.

There is no mention of singing, shouting, dancing, music or instruments, but there is mention of an altar and the treasure of man’s heart being laid on it.

Worship is so much more than the expression of reverence and adoration to God with our lips; it is so much more than a “hallelujah”, a “Praise the Lord”, a shout, a dance or a bending of the knee.

At it’s highest, it is the expression of “worth-ship” to God by surrendering, sacrificing and offering up to Him that which He requires of us no matter what it costs or how much it hurts.

Worship is more so what we do with our lives at God’s request.

“Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.” – Romans 12:1 – NIV

Will you worship Him this year?

2016 LIGHT CHALLENGE

YOU ARE CHRIST’S LIGHT IN THIS DARK WORLD – SHINE!

In Matthew 5:14-16, Jesus said that we, Believers, are the light of the world and instructs us to let our light shine before men in the same way that a city set on a hill would shine, or a lamp placed on a lampstand would shine so that people may see our good deeds and moral excellence and glorify our Father who is in heaven.

So, what is the 2016 light challenge?

The 2016 light challenge is:

To choose to let the light of Christ in you shine before others through your good deeds and moral excellence no matter what situation you encounter in 2016

What a challenge!

Are you up to it?

I am sure that each of us who takes on this challenge will encounter situations where there is great, and even exceedingly great temptation and pressure to respond or act in ways that hide the light of Christ in us, but don’t let that discourage you from joining in.

Enter the challenge with a mindset of dependence on God, keeping in mind that His grace is ever present to help and you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you.

Just like anything else we want to become good at, the 2016 Light Challenge will take practice and mindful effort, especially in situations that we normally find challenging.

If there is a time when you “blow it”, “mess up”, or conduct yourself in a way that would make others question whether you even have the light of Christ in you, don’t get discouraged, give up or fall under the weight of condemnation, simply confess it, ask forgiveness, repent, pick yourself up and keep moving on. Take the stance of the Apostle Paul who wrote in Philippians 3:13-15:

“Brothers and sisters, I do not consider that I have made it my own yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal to win the [heavenly] prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. 15 All of us who are mature [pursuing spiritual perfection] should have this attitude. And if in any respect you have a different attitude, that too God will make clear to you.” (Amplified Bible)

We, Believers are the light of the world and the world needs to see our light because it is engulfed in darkness.

Considering this, as we go into the new year, let’s take on the 2016 Light Challenge and let our lights shine.

So, what is the 2016 light challenge?

The 2016 light challenge is:

To choose to let the light of Christ in you shine before others through your good deeds and moral excellence no matter what situation you encounter in 2016

What a challenge!

Thank you for loving us so much to formulate a redemption plan…..I’m so grateful!

Thank you for looking at it all and not saying “can’t” but “can”…..I’m so grateful!

CELEBRATE ANYHOW!

A lack of money is no reason not to celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Simply meditating on the fact that He came and why He came is reason enough to joyfully celebrate.

I received the following prophetic word by Elaine Tavolacci this morning via my subscription to her website, http://www.awordinseason.info.

I believe that it will encourage those who believe and identify with what is said as evidenced by the quickening of their spirit, so I am re-blogging it with her permission.

There is a lot more to the Church/Body of Christ than what is presently perceived and it will be revealed and manifested in God’s set time before Christ’s return.

WORD FOR 2016

“ACTS CHAPTER TWO – AWAKENING IN THE PEW”

The past week as I inquired of the Lord concerning the coming year of 2016, The Holy Spirit gave me this word. He showed me a giant who had been lulled to sleep, battle weary, bruised and broken. This giant was burdened down by the cares of the world, misfortunes and sickness. Then I asked the Lord, who is this sleeping giant? Is it the enemy? He then showed me that this sleeping giant represented the body of Christ. Numerous Christians have endured horrendous trials the past year but they don’t realize that they are a giant who is about to be “awakened”.

The book of Acts chapter two speaks about how the Holy Spirit came into the Upper Room on the day of Pentecost when 120 people were gathered together in prayer and in one accord. There was a sound as a mighty rushing wind, tongues of fire appeared on each of them and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance. The onlookers mocked them saying that they were drunk with new wine, but Peter stood up and said, they are not drunk as you suppose but this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel.

The Lord says; The sleeping giant is about to awaken once again. I am about to pour out my new wine in abundance. In this day of great acceleration, many of you will advance expeditiously into what you were called to do. Do not fear the shifting and the shaking as these things are necessary for My plans and purposes to come to pass. Every opposition that arises is an opportunity to come to a higher place, and every challenge that you overcome will bring you to another level. I am awaking My people with a zeal that will be rekindled, their strength will be restored and their relationship with Me will be renewed.

As you pray in one accord, you will cultivate an atmosphere of My presence that will transform the spiritual atmosphere around you. As you worship together I will open up the floodgates and you will be immersed in My tangible presence.

In this great awakening, the men and woman who are mature in their walk with Me will teach, nurture and mentor those who are coming into the kingdom. I am calling those of you who know Me to train, encourage and support them. I will raise up those who have been delivered from the strongholds of the enemy to strengthen the younger ones in their faith.

I will awaken those who I have called to be as Moses. They will raise up Joshuas to train men to be strong and very courageous. They will train them in leadership and to be tenacious in spiritual warfare. They will teach them how to be more than conqueror’s in every battle. They will encourage them to pursue the plan and calling on their lives and never retreat in battle.

I will awaken the Naomi’s to train up the young Ruth’s. These are godly women who will comfort and teach the younger woman how to live a lifestyle of integrity, sincerity and respect. They will teach them how to walk in humility, wisdom and honor in their relationships. They will teach them how to be submitted to their husbands rather than being enslaved by them.

I will awaken the Elijahs to train and raise up Elishas with a double portion of their spirit. They will train the young prophets and teach them how to be used in the gifts of the Holy Spirit. They will show them how to follow in their footsteps and be used in miracles, signs and wonders with respect and reverence of the mighty anointing on their lives.

I will awaken the Paul’s to train up young Timothy’s in prayer. They will prepare them how to live godly lifestyles, show them how to refrain from sinful ways, how to walk authority but in the fear and admonition of the Lord. They will train them on how to be strong in what they believe, fan the flames and stir up the gifts that were given to them. They will warn them against false teachings and false prophets, and show them how to endure hardness as good soldiers. They will encourage them not to be ashamed of the gospel.

In this awakening, those who are timid will become bold as lions. There will be wonders in the heaven above, and signs on the earth below and My light will shine out of the darkness. Stand firm as you feel the ground shaking beneath you because the days of the latter and former rain of My glory are on the horizon says the Lord.

Joel 2:23-24
“Be glad then, you children of Zion, and rejoice in the Lord your God; for He has given you the former rain faithfully, and He will cause the rain to come down for you -The former rain, and the latter rain in the first month. The threshing floors shall be full of wheat, and the vats shall overflow with new wine and oil.”

Joel 2:28
“And it shall come to pass afterward that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions. And also on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days.”

Acts 2: 1-4
“When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.”

Acts 2:17-21
“And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your young men shall see visions, your old men shall dream dreams. And on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days; and they shall prophesy. I will show wonders in heaven above and signs in the earth beneath: Blood and fire and vapor of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the coming of the great and awesome day of the Lord. And it shall come to pass that whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

WHATEVER HAPPENED TO………..

HHHHmmmm………….

Generally speaking, the messages we hear preached in the church today have a notable absence of some pertinent words, concepts and realities that are very prevalent in the Word and were very prevalent in the church of old.

What ever happened to:

Calling sin what it is…….sin!

Seeing sin as what it is……. a grave, despicable, detestable and dangerous thing that God abhors

Godly sorrow……the sorrow which brings repentance, not just a few moments of feeling sorry, badly or grieved but no core desire for true change

Repentance….a turning, a turning from sin and turning to God…….a changing of one’s mind resulting in by God’s grace, a changing of one’s actions

Separation from the world…..being distinct and different from the world, not being conformed to the ways of the world, being in the world but not of the world

Self-denial….not my will but God’s will….”no” to self, “yes” to God, humble submission to God

Taking up your cross and following after Christ……a call to do whatever is necessary for absolute surrender to Christ and His way of being and doing, the pre-requisite being self-denial

Christ as Lord…..as Supreme Ruler and Controller of our lives, the One to whom we submit and defer, not just as Savior, or as some see it, fire insurance or a ticket out of hell

Sanctification……the process of being set apart and separated unto God for His holy use and embracing the continual work of the Holy Spirit on the inside to conform us to the image of God’s Son

Holiness….without which no man shall see the Lord

Being disciples…..being pupils of Christ, learning from and following after Him…….can we make disciples if we don’t want to be disciples ourselves?

Reverential fear of God….awe, respect, recognition of His severity, justice and judgment, not just His goodness, mercy and grace

God’s judgment….that we all will have to stand before Him as the Righteous Judge and give an account for what we do in this life, whether at the Judgment seat of Christ or the Great White Throne Judgement

Hell….a place of eternal damnation, suffering, torment, punishment, fire, weeping, wailing, gnashing of teeth and separation from God

Could the increased scarcity of these words, concepts and realities in the church at large be one of the reasons why it seems more palatable but less powerful?

LORD, WHEN IT COMES TO PRAYER, HERE’S THE DEAL……..

LORD, WHEN IT COMES TO PRAYER, HERE’S THE DEAL…..

A PRAYER DEAL WITH GOD….REALLY!!

Lord, when it comes to prayer, here’s the deal…..

I’ll decide when I want to talk to You.

Off the top, I’m not a morning person so getting up early in the morning is out of the question……I need my sleep.

I work during the day so that’s not a good time to talk to You either……I have important conversations to hold with my colleagues, clients, business partners and associates……and inbetween I need to talk with my friends, family, and my special boo……You understand.

At night I gotta do the family thing and catch up with my online crew, you know, the people I’m in touch with on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, WhatsApp, and Snapchat……and I need to complete my course assignment, exercise, eat, plus get in some TV and catch up on the news……things are tight at night.

So Lord as You can see, I’m busy so I’ll decide when I can fit You in.

But don’t get me wrong now Lord, when I say fit You in, I don’t want You to think I mean any long drawn out thing.

Whatever I ask You for, just give it to me, and don’t take long……..If I have a problem and ask You to take care of it, do it right away….If I ask you to heal someone, just heal them……….I ain’t into this tarrying thing or whatever they call it….You say You can do anything so just do it…….no need to draw this out.

And another thing, don’t expect me to shut myself in any room alone at any time and pray to You……all that ain’t necessary…….we can talk on the run, that’s more convenient.

And just in case You’re thinking about it, when I pray to You, don’t switch on me and turn around and ask me to pray about anyone or anything…….I really ain’t on that run!……I only pray about what directly concerns me……everyone can pray for themselves and their own stuff.

Oh, and one more thing, about these church prayer meetings, don’t bother to ask because I won’t be going to any….being around a bunch of people running on and on and crying and wailing and speaking in that weird, freaky language, I ain’t for that!….me and You talking is cool…that’s definitely enough.

So Lord, that’s the deal!

IS THIS WHAT YOUR LIFE SAYS TO GOD WHEN IT COMES TO PRAYER?

BE HONEST……DOES ANY OF THIS RESONATE WITH YOU?

SELAH!

IF SO, AND IF PRAYER IS AS IMPORTANT TO YOU AS YOU SAY IT IS, LET TODAY BE YOUR DAY TO REPENT AND MAKE ANY NEEDED CHANGE.
