This is Van...leave a message.
So, how'm I doing? Do I fail miserably? Am I okay? God forbid, am I good? Was that a pig flying by my window...?
Please let me know here. I also welcome private messages, emails IMs, and messenger pigeons about game matters.

I'd rather not spam y'all! ♥[Hitomi's gone...the quiet, peaceful way they'd been living together wasn't anywhere near what they had been going through back home, but it had been nice, incredibly so, to not have to constantly fight for his life. Just to have her around. Go to that stupid school thing, only because she insisted. He hadn't realized just how much he appreciated the peace and togetherness.
Not anymore. The house is quiet without her around...too quiet, and Van had never thought such a thing was possible before. He needed something to do to keep his mind off of things, and well...he couldn't let his skills with the sword go unpracticed like he has been doing, afraid of what might happen if he took up his blade again. Things never stayed peaceful for long, no matter how he wished they would.
The first hour and a half of his time is spent in meditation, sheathed sword settled across his lap. Luckily, the Dreamberry doesn't record this, or you'd be treated to a very boring view of Van's pocket. But when he stands, it slips out, turning on when it hits the ground to begin recording.
Blade drawn and glinting in what remains of the fading sunlight, Van settles himself into a ready position--his sword hand shakes ever so slightly, but he ignores that through sheer will and begins to move, slowly at first, but picking up speed once he starts moving through learned katas until his sword is flashing through the air like he honestly means to kill something.
Speak up? Watch? Offer to spar with him? Wat do?]

[Van's shivering as he turns on the video feed--apparently his tunic is warmer than it looks, but he's definitely not used to being a walking shirtless scene (and he's also fairly sure he wasn't this muscular before.)]
...who'd be stupid enough to walk around like this? It's cold. And armor on only one arm...? What's the point of that?
[He hasn't gotten around to buying a coat for winter yet, so he kinda doesn't have one. He yanks the quilt off his bed and wraps it around his shoulders instead.]
What kind of costume is this even supposed to be?
[ooc: Van is, well...himself. From the Escaflowne movie. |D He's not too impressed with his alternate self's choice in clothing, or lack thereof.]

[Van had pretty much promptly forgot he had the stupid Dreamberry-phone-thing once Hitomi showed up--he hadn't worried about it since. They lived together, and she was really the only person he knew or cared to keep track of, so what was his use for it?
...but when Hitomi wouldn't wake up for that school thing she insisted on dragging him to, Van begun to worry.
A day or two later, he was frantic. She was still breathing, but that was small comfort because she still wouldn't wake up, not even in the slightest.
Looks like someone was never told about sleep comas.
He's found his Dreamberry, and managed to remember how to get it to turn on, recording a video. Victory! 'cept he's obviously worried, looks like he hasn't been sleeping to make up for Hitomi's binge, and just...he's a mess.]
Someone...I don't know what's going on! Hitomi...she's sick or something, I don't know what to do!

[there's a few fumbles and beeps as Van fiddles with the tiny buttons on his brand new Dreamberry, completely clueless as to what exactly the thing is. He just knows it looks something like Hitomi's whatever-it-was...pager. Maybe that was it. But it looks like that in the way that the Crusade looked like one of Zaibach's floating fortresses--similar in theory, drastically different in actuality.]
What is this thing? Why does it need so many buttons?
[oh well. The strange little device isn't what's important right now. He calls out--not to the Dreamberry, but it's still recording anyway. He has no idea how to turn it off.]
Hitomi! Allen! Merle!
Where is everyone? Where's Escaflowne?
...where am I?

...Thanks.
[It is pretty shiny.]
No. My country is known for its leaders having military skill. To take the throne, a king of Fanelia has to defeat a dragon in single combat. They don't tend to stand still…
Just an art form, then, is it?
Because it's tradition.
[My God what a tiny little man you are. So innocent-sounding.]
Well. What does matter, then, that you have to be that good with a sword?
