In our congregational community, we are called to care for one another.

Spiritual Care

At times, we can all benefit from a listening presence. We have a Spiritual Care team, which is a group of trained lay leaders who are available to provide that presence during times of challenge, crisis, or transition. Our team members have experience with relationships, caring for children, partners, and parents, LGBTQ+ issues, BiPoC issues, organ transplant, chronic and acute illness, death of loved ones, anxiety, neurodiversity, loneliness, facing end of life, and other issues. Team members are available to meet via phone, virtually, or in person. Communication is confidential between you, the team members, and a minister.

If you are part of our community and would like to connect to someone on the Spiritual Care Team, please reach out to spiritualcare@unitytemple.org. This reaches all members of the team (Diana Coates, Jay Cohen, Maureen Crotty, Vanessa Crowder, Chet Taranowski and Kerry Vitali) as well as our ministers, the Rev. Roger Bertschausen and Emily Gage. You can also reach out directly to a minister for spiritual care.

If you have a joy or sorrow you would like to have shared during the worship service, please email spiritualcare@unitytemple.org.

Practical Care

Particularly in times of transition and challenge, we may need some practical assistance to help make things easier. We have a Caring Committee that arranges for meals and other forms of practical support.

If you are a member and would like to submit a care request for you and your family, please click the button below and fill out our online member care request form. A member of the Caring Committee will be in touch with you.

If you would like to  find out more about how you can help provide a meal, donate homemade soup, join a visitor team, or serve as a volunteer at Celebration of Life services, contact caring@unitytemple.org.
