Hello, everyone!
This is Nani speaking. We, the fellow Yosuga no Sora fans, love the story and atmosphere this impactful visual novel creates. It first saw the release on December 5, 2008. Almost 18 years have passed since. Today, me and the TRJR team together bring life to a passion project of preservation!
Built entirely from scratch on Godot Engine, this project maintains a 1:1 look and feel of the original physical release.

There are additional benefits:
- Easier to install from physical DVD, doesn’t require locale changes.
- Natively supports Windows, Linux and Android.
- Runs independently of framerate and resolution. Smoother animations, freely resizable window, borderless fullscreen.
- Irons out bugs that were simply too difficult to fix due to the limitations of the old engine. Some of the visual bugs are jarring once you notice them.
- Configurability and modding capabilities.
Let me demonstrate.
High resolution textures mod

Day/Night cycle (included)

The character is being shaded and tinted by the darkness of night. Backported from digital edition and is enabled by default.
Both of these features were added as an afterthought, meaning that they weren’t necessarily planned for. Modern engines are powerful and expressive tools. They don’t get in the way of your creativity.
Disclaimer: The remaster is based on physical edition of the game, not digital! You have to own the official DVD or a legal physical copy to install! If you have .xp3 files in your game folder, you have the digital version!

- Download Rin for Windows in the #patches channel. The file should be named
rin-windows.zip. - Extract the contents of the archive to a fresh empty folder. For example, 7-Zip lets you do it with right-click on the file → 7-Zip → Extract to “rin-windows\”. This is the installer’s working directory, so you should install your game somewhere else.
- Open the installer’s directory, launch
rin.exe, and follow the step-by-step instructions. You may insert the DVD beforehand. - After installation is complete, you will have a new ヨスガノソラRE directory inside the games folder you chose as the destination during the installation process.
- You can now play the original game, or install mods and patches.

- Download Rin for Linux in the :open_file_folder:patches channel. The file should be named
rin-linux.tar.gz. - Extract the contents of the archive to a fresh empty folder. This is the installer’s working directory, and you should install your game somewhere else.
- Open the installer’s directory and follow the step-by-step instructions.
- In Linux’s case, Rin depends on the presence of an
xdg-desktop-portalbackend, and eitherlibdbusorzenityto display the directory picker dialog. - On Linux, run the installer through an already open terminal session, or launch it in a terminal from the context menu if you have this option.
- After the installation is complete, you will have a new ヨスガノソラRE directory inside the games folder you chose as a destination during the installation process. You can now play the original game, or install mods and patches.
- Install on the Desktop platform first (follow instructions for Windows/Linux)
- This is the necessary first step to legally obtain the game assets.
- You may also want to install mods and patches.
- Copy the game folder (ヨスガノソラRE) to your Android device via USB transfer.
- Download and install the
.apkfile from Discord. - Launch the app. Navigate to the game folder and allow the app to access it.
- The startup time can be a little slow for now. Stay patient.
- Tap with a second finger or press the back button to simulate the right mouse button.
Grab from the link in #patches on the discord server and just put them into the game folder (ヨスガノソラRE). Don’t unzip anything.
Patches currently are:
patch.zip– Translates the game to Englishdecensor.zip– Decensors the gamehighres.zip– Upscales the game to a higher resolution (and decensors the game)
No, there is no separation between full and base patches, like it is for physical and digital.
If you care, you can modify values in start.cfg and relaunch the game. Most people don’t. The default setting is to get translations for both in-game text and images.
