Wrote a second chapter for my group project. It got rave reviews and my of the other writers said it was the best chapter so far (Chapter 10). It was pretty dark and had to do with the background of a bad guy in our book- a female sociopath who was a sex slave in a third world country from the ages of 5-12. The drug king pin in our book buys child slaves from all over the world to work in his organization, in order to ensure loyalty. I totally nailed it and created a femme fatale people will love to hate, but feel a pang of sorrow for.

Hahaha a motivational pic from I fan I can post in a public forum... He said he thought this looked like Julia Stiles. It took me ten minutes to see the resemblance, lol. Seriously though, before she takes the shirt off it totally looks like her.

I was sharing my difficulty with writing car chases with my author's group and one of the women suggested that I write it like a sex scene, lol. I am so going to do that, people will read it and laugh so hard that they cry.

Work on my own book is still going strong and a lot of the chapters are starting to pull together nicely. A month ago a friend read the first chapter aloud at an annual 'read out' for my group. People were cracking up; not many people can make a woman waking up in a crack house funny. Someone said I sound like Chuck Wendig, and I tore through his three Miriam Black books. Here is one of my favorite parts:

I think I like Duet Magnifique the best as far as titles... It's French, which pays homage to New Orleans, it's a good split personality name, and it's the name of a combo meal at La Madeleine where I usually write.

I wrote in some of my OCs from my fanfic stuff, mainly Servo from my Dexter story. Felt good to play with some of my dusty toys. I was even able to lift a few paragraphs from it that I thought were great. I have about 4 chapters in the first book/act done and the first 2 in the second. I felt the need to know a destination. I worked at editing and making revisions one my first chapter after getting the first round of feedback.

I had a fan send a photo manip of Ashley / Molly Quinn as incentive to write my Bourne story again. I get the weirdest bribes, lol.

So, my book is coming along at a good pace. I have 3 chapters finished and the first one heavily edited. Several of my readers are excited about it. I'm researching on how to self publish on Kindle and how to hire artist to do the cover. Debating on whether to have actual art or an actual photo of something cool.

I am hoping that before the end of the year it will be finished. Just super excited that I'm closer to taking a step onto a larger stage
