Wrote a second chapter for my group project. It got rave reviews and my of the other writers said it was the best chapter so far (Chapter 10). It was pretty dark and had to do with the background of a bad guy in our book- a female sociopath who was a sex slave in a third world country from the ages of 5-12. The drug king pin in our book buys child slaves from all over the world to work in his organization, in order to ensure loyalty. I totally nailed it and created a femme fatale people will love to hate, but feel a pang of sorrow for.

Car chases and won-ton promiscuity

I was sharing my difficulty with writing car chases with my author's group and one of the women suggested that I write it like a sex scene, lol. I am so going to do that, people will read it and laugh so hard that they cry.

Work on my own book is still going strong and a lot of the chapters are starting to pull together nicely. A month ago a friend read the first chapter aloud at an annual 'read out' for my group. People were cracking up; not many people can make a woman waking up in a crack house funny. Someone said I sound like Chuck Wendig, and I tore through his three Miriam Black books. I think I like Duet Magnifique the best as far as titles... It's French, which pays homage to New Orleans, it's a good split personality name, and it's the name of a combo meal at La Madeleine where I usually write.

I wrote in some of my OCs from my fanfic stuff, mainly Servo from my Dexter story. Felt good to play with some of my dusty toys. I was even able to lift a few paragraphs from it that I thought were great. I have about 4 chapters in the first book/act done and the first 2 in the second. I felt the need to know a destination. I worked at editing and making revisions one my first chapter after getting the first round of feedback.

I had a fan send a photo manip of Ashley / Molly Quinn as incentive to write my Bourne story again. I get the weirdest bribes, lol.

So, my book is coming along at a good pace. I have 3 chapters finished and the first one heavily edited. Several of my readers are excited about it. I'm researching on how to self publish on Kindle and how to hire artist to do the cover. Debating on whether to have actual art or an actual photo of something cool.

I am hoping that before the end of the year it will be finished. Just super excited that I'm closer to taking a step onto a larger stage

I noticed the distinct lack of trees on the way here, just rotting stumps that had been pulled up. Does that bother you?

(He shrugs) Not really, I don’t own them. These trees are here because I bought them. If people really wanted to stop clear cutting worldwide, then they should put their money where their mouths are and literally take ownership. They don’t even hike in nature, they buy gym memberships and build golf courses. All they really care about is themselves. People will buy land on the moon and Mars, but not an acre of trees…

I’m really taken back by that. So, you don’t think people should appreciate nature- in the abstract?

Having fantasies are fine. I daydream about Ginger and Mary Ann all the time, but it doesn’t make them mine or mean I can tell their husbands how to treat them. Indians are the only one allowed to be outraged at the botanical genocide being committed out here.

Umm… Native Americans- what are your thoughts on them?

I try not to have any reservations. Seriously though, the National Parks should be turned over to them. I’m not saying they should be able to do anything they want with them, but they should get the tourist income and get first dibs on any jobs or work contracts there.

So, are you a huge transcendentalist?

Getting closer to God through nature? No. I’ll leave that to the poets, however I am a fan of their writing and appreciate their efforts. Nature doesn’t bring you closer to God, it just gives you fewer things to occupy your mind and sooner or later that turns to self reflection. For religious people that involves God.

Mary Ann. Donna over Jackie though. I’ll always take Bettys over Veronicas. My favorite actress is Meg Ryan. Word is they are rebooting When Harry Met Sally. My agent is already plugging me for the lead.

HA! Yeah, that was a circus. Far from John Lithgow’s finest work. He was such a Prima Donna. He kept trying to get in every shot even though I’m too big to photo-bomb. He is still reveling in his faux Footloose glory.

Feel like recounting your first film experience?

(Groans) Not really, but I will. So I’m out there taking a squat and I forgot toilet paper in camp, so I’m there doing ‘the crab walk’ when I hear this idiot snickering and filming me. That was way before video voyeurism laws. So one of the most famous videos of all time was the world first bathroom peep video. My lawyer is suing people for using my likeness and fighting for residuals. Maybe one day I'll see some coin for it.

Nah, they are white, twice my size, and have never been photographed. I bet you think they are shy or skilled at hiding. Once again- they are fifteen feet tall and eat people. They make a mean Reporter Stew.

Sure. I love to bake and I make an award winning Carrot Cake. It’s more like banana bread than cake. I’ll throw it up on Live Journal later.

In my writing group we are writing a book, each of us doing a chapter and then we are going to self-publish it as practice / a learning experience. I just wrote chapter 3 and I must declare that it's the best one by a mile. The people in my group are really supportive and it's a fun open environment. I learn a lot every time- every two weeks.

My fanfic writing is going by the wayside soon. I'll finish the Bourne story that I'm doing and then tailor it back. I have worked on my Constance character enough though so that it isn't Nicky anymore anyway. I'm going to start writing some stuff for her so that It's all my own and can publish it one day.

Amtrak is starting a program for authors to tour the country for free (or nearly) on sort of a scholarship / PR/ goodwill thing. No one takes trains in America, so I guess they are trying to get people writing about it.

Also writing a scene with Nicky and Jason (what's their / name? Nickson?) fight in the pouring rain and the combo of rain/trains made me remember this song....

3-4 or new Kirill stories got posted by different peeps. Kind of afraid to read them, a lot of those end by being m/m. I guess Mr. Urban's new show is a hit... I think it's funny that everyone thinks he is an asset even though it never says that anywhere. Him shouting 'Secret Police' would seem to indicate he is GRU (Russian FBI). It's a better story if he is though. I figured he had a fake badge that he flashed the cops.

Almost done with another chapter. It will have the Christmas scene in it, but the chapter is 1500 words longer than my usual maximum. Already have the next chapter laid out too. I think most of it will be a flashback of Jason's from before he met Nicky. Should have them both posted within ten days. I really want to post this one now, but I know it is hot off the press and thus rife with errors. Also has second part of the Marcus / Ashley showdown, so I guess most of this chapter is old material, but I like it. The Christmas scene should help both balance and contrast the Ash scene.
