Questions we imagine you might ask:
Are you going to reject / edit / deface my words: Probably not? We might edit for spelling/grammar/clarity. If for some reason you send us something that’s markedly sexist/racist/homophobic/whatever, we aren’t going to publish it (that is, if your content is offensive; we are all for researching offensive history). But you’re not going to send us one of those, are you? Your research is Really Cool.
But my research is really boring to other people: We want to know why you think it’s cool. Trust us, we have very broad ideas of cool.
Is this only for humanities? NOPE. All kinds of REALLY COOL projects, ideas, thoughts, experiments welcome here!
My research is really very relevant and super impactful! Is it also REALLY COOL? If it is, go ahead.
Am I Scholar enough/young enough/ECR enough? We’re hoping for contributions from postgrads and postdocs, ranging from MA to about 10 years post-PhD. But we’re fairly flexible about that; if in doubt, email us.
This stuff has been already published; I wrote an ENTIRE BOOK about it. Great, you can advertise it at the end of the blogpost, but tell us a juicy bit from it, something other people could find Really Cool.
I used to research something REALLY COOL a while ago but now I’m alt-ac/post-ac/a lucky escapee from academia: hold tight, once we have this ball rolling we’ll put out a call for a different format of contribution from you guys!
I’m an undergrad! Can I play? Yes! We’d like to feature some undergrad contributions in here as well – tell us about your current favourite Really Cool thing, and a bit about your subject choices and future plans. We might put out a coursework-student specific call for contributions in the near future.
