I’ve been using Knowledge Base plugin by Danny van Kooten for a while and loved how simple it was compared to the bloated alternatives. But since it wasn’t being maintained, I started looking for other options. That search turned into frustration pretty quickly.
Most plugins I tried were packed with features I didn’t need, took too long to set up, and didn’t look great out of the box. So I ended up going back to Danny’s plugin, digging into the code, and then falling into a rabbit hole of “what if I just made my own.”
Countless hours (and coffees) later, I had something new. I kept the idea, gave it a fresh design, and added a few small but important things.
Docist is still in development but already feels like the plugin I always wanted for my own sites. Clean by default, easy to tweak, and ready to make your docs feel like yours.
If you’re interested in testing it before release, leave a comment or get in touch.
