Themeist started in 2016 as a place to bring together the plugins I had built and the themes I planned to release under Webtions.
By then, I had already worked on hundreds of custom WordPress websites. I tried turning some of those ideas into products, but stopped when they felt too similar to what was already out there.
Rethinking the Approach
Years of client work showed me that complex solutions rarely hold up in real use. Clients struggled to manage them on their own, and features that looked impressive were often underused or became a source of confusion.
That changed how I build products. I stopped thinking in terms of adding more and started focusing on what people can use confidently without needing help.
Current Direction
In 2024, I returned to design with a clearer view of what I wanted Themeist to be. Having your own space online still matters, and WordPress remains one of the strongest ways to build it. AI has added a new layer to how websites can be planned, built, and improved.
Themeist applies those ideas through practical WordPress themes and plugins.
Long-Term Focus
Themeist focuses on building a small body of work that stays useful over time. It is built for WordPress users with practical needs and a preference for focused tools. The business side follows the same approach: clear scope, clear pricing, and no artificial discount cycles.
The goal is to keep the products useful, the business sustainable, and the relationship with users straightforward.
