You have the chance to disrupt travel at register for THack ITB Berlin, a weekend hackathon 28FEB - 01MAR at Factory Berlin.
THack is presented by Tnooz, the leading global source of news and analysis about travel tech. Our partners at ITB Berlin produce the world's largest travel trade show annually in March.
Participants must register and attend to hack, present to judges and be eligible to win ... there will be no virtual projects accepted.
THack brings together more than 100 developers and leading travel and travel tech companies for a creative competition that seeks solutions to these four challenges:
- Inspiration, discovery and memories
- Local concierge
- Accommodation finder
- Route planner
Test your design, coding, mobile UEX, data analysis and other technical and creative skills ... network with developers from Berlin's vibrant start-up community ... and revolutionize the lesiure and business travel experience.
THack's Tier 1 sponsoring companies – including Lufthansa API information, GetYourGuide and Sabre API information – will provide access to their APIs to developers looking to solve one or more the four challenges.
Also, 33entrepreneurs.net, a Bordeaux-based tourism, food and wine accelerator, will provide on-site mentoring as well as a week to a hackathon winner at its accelerator, including a travel expense subsidy.
Eligibility
- Eligibility is to open to all developers
- Individuals or teams of up to 5 members may compete

Requirements
- Participants must create a working, coded digital travel product or tool that meets at least one of the four challenges listed on the THack registration site
- Each individual or team will receive up to 5 minutes to present their project to the THack judging panel
- All participants are required to post the details of their hack projects to Challenge Post as a record of thier participation; details for posting to be communicated during hackathon

Is the project truly an original and unique approach to solving one of more of the four THack travel challenges? If the project is a more incremental invention, how does it compare in originality compared to other projects in the hackathon? (25% of score) -
Meets one or more THack chellenges
Does the project meet the intent or spirit of at least one of the four travel challenges? (25% of score) -
Technical merit
Does the project use working code and rise to the level of a prototype product or tool as a digital travel application? (25% of score) -
Presentation skill
Is the project's purpose and functionality clearly presented by the individual or team? Is the premise, business case and/or solution easily understood in its scope and potential growth? (25% of score)
