Sustainability is not a feature – it’s our foundation.
At Switch Datacenters, innovation and dricing for efficiency has always been our path to sustainability. We lead by example – not because it’s expected, but because we believe that curiosity and challenging convention unlock smarter, more efficient, and greener solutions. We embed sustainability into every layer of our development and  operations, from material or former building structure re-use in construction and closed loop cooling with zero-water for usage to heat reuse and ESG investment strategies. Our datacenters are designed to serve both the digital economy and the energy transition.

We build with purpose:

  • Design principles: reuse of existing structures, low-carbon materials, and modular builds to reduce embodied emissions and waste.
  • Energy Efficiency: Our datacenter electrical systems consistently achieve ultra-low Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE), with some locations operating around 1.1, thanks to advanced cooling innovations and smart thermal design.
  • Data thermal aka heat reuse systems: our new datacenters are engineered to supply fossil-free heat to homes and greenhouses – saving thousands of tonnes of CO₂ annually.
  • Zero water cooling: closed-loop liquid cooling systems with low WUE
  • Renewable energy: 100% green power for usage across all sites, aiming for local solutions and grid integration.
  • Noise and biodiversity: urban-friendly designs with low noise emissions and integrated landscape planning.

We invest with responsibility:

  • ESG-aligned financing: our development model attracts green lenders, equity and sustainability-linked investment.
  • European standards: our operations align with EU Taxonomy, VSME reporting, EU EED and local environmental codes.
  • Sustainability reporting: to increase our transparency we are preparing structured disclosures on energy efficiency, emissions, water use, and social impact.
