In memory of family and friends who have lost the battle with cancer; and in support of the ones who continue to conquer it!

I just got the book I ordered last June. Healthy Bread in Five Minutes a Day. I have to clear space in my refrigerator for the dough.
I cooked a turkey in my oven. I have a feature for slow cooking in the oven. I would never be able to fit a whole turkey in even my 7 quart crockpot. This is mostly a test to see if I remember my password correctly.
THank you for the birthday drabble you posted on your LJ. It is a lot of fun, and hilarious.
Mail just started working again for some reason. I hope it keeps working.

I just updated to Snow Leopard last night. It has been a strange experience, to say the least. First, I lost about half my screensavers to incompatibility. I was able to find updates for a number of them, but some of the good ones are not updated yet.
Then I had various trouble with Mail. First, this morning, it kept asking for my password, and then when I installed the update, it said I didn't have the right version of Mail for Snow Leopard. I haven't been able to re-install it, because I don't know where it is on the Snow Leopard disc, if it's there at all. If I found it on the old discs, it would be an even older version.

Yum. I'm steaming half a dozen ears of corn on the stove right now. It's going to be good. I've already eaten some raw, and it is very sweet. I'll also steam a piece of salmon I have here.
Thanks, Catuuy. Someday, I'll make that list of fics by Jessa L'rynn she asked for. I haven't forgotten, I just haven't done it.
I did a roast for supper tonight, it was sort of using a recipe from cook's illustrated with the wrong cut of meat. It turned out pretty good, though. i can't cut meat thinly, though, and that's a bit of a problem. Next time, I'll get out the food slicer and hope I don't slice myself as well.

2 or 3 onions, sliced
28 oz can of tomatoes, chopped or 2 smaller cans of tomatoes stewed is good too undrained
1/4 tsp sugar this helps to lessen the acidity and shouldn't make it sweet
1/2 tsp liquid smoke or to taste
1 tsp italian seasoning if you aren't using stewed tomatoes
Put above ingredients in slow cooker. Cook on high for 4 hours. Then add:
4 oz cooked crumbled bacon
8 oz hotdogs or more if you want Someday I'm going to try polish sausage in this
8 oz fresh mushrooms, optional
Cook for another hour or until onions and mushrooms are done, and hotdogs are hot. Waiting to add the hotdogs and bacon until the end lets them keep their flavor. I've also added leftover lentils, canned spinach and other stuff. This time, I omitted the hotdogs and bacon so I could eat it on Friday.
