HACK THE FUTURE
StudentHack is an open-ended hackathon, this means your project can be anything you like, but to be eligible for our prizes (not necessarily the sponsors' or the societies'), your project must be themed around space.
PingProxies Challenge
The website has 100,000 fake car listings on the website and the challenge for teams will be to build a system which can scrape all the listings as quickly as possible, analyse the data and submit results to an endpoint we give you.
The team that can produce the system that can scrape all the listings as quickly as possible will be the winners and there will be a live leaderboard for the duration of the Hackathon showing teams and they're fastest times. The teams will have to battle with rate-limits using proxies we provide and those that figure out the most optimal web scraping techniques by analyzing how we've built the site should build systems which can scrape the content at a much faster rate.
