What fears have you overcome and how?
Fear is a mental state, however fear can be from some visible, physically existing sources such as frightening objects, beings, heights, water bodies and so many other sources. Though every fear has a psychological effects on us which shapes our mental state, however there are some fears which evolved in our thoughts only, there is no physical existence of its source at the time of instilling of fear but it’s just a negative anticipation. Yet it’s very effective as we seek self validation and authentication through them.
One of the important among them is “Fear of others perception/opinion about our any of thoughts or actions”
To explain it further, here fear is about negative feedback which we are anticipating. And it’s all about self questioning and such questions which arise in our mind are like, if I will do this, then how will people around me will consider it? Will they accept it and praise me or will they criticize it and dishonour me? Will it make me to stand alone and no body will support me? How will I face all of this? How will I face people after it happens? etc etc.
Often you will find your thoughts surrounded by such thoughts and many times we drop many ideas which raises such questions in our mind which otherwise we were going to convert into action.
But.. But … Here I am not talking about what would have happened if we ignore these voices and continue what we wanted to do.
Here I am referring to the insecure, fearful, depressed, irritated state of mind which make us feel so low and alone, and relieving self from such thoughts brings a sense of calmness and freedom which is unmatchable. So that what I feel after overcoming this fear.
