SPBA

SPBA is a legacy component from UPEK Inc.’s biometric authentication software suite, often bundled with Protector Suite and early versions of HP SimplePass. Running as a background process (spba.exe) and browser integration module, it enables fingerprint-based sign-in on Windows and provides a secure, encrypted password vault with automatic form filling for websites and supported applications. Designed to work with UPEK fingerprint sensors commonly embedded in laptops, SPBA supports Windows logon, single sign-on, and streamlined credential management through fingerprint enrollment and policy settings. It was primarily targeted at Windows XP, Vista, and 7 and integrated with popular browsers of that era. Following UPEK’s acquisition and subsequent rebranding of its software, SPBA is considered legacy; removing or disabling it can impact fingerprint authentication and access to stored credentials.

SPBA is developed by UPEK Inc. and is used by 16 users of Software Informer. The names of program executable files are SPBA Client.exe, SPBA.exe. This particular product is not fit to be reviewed by our informers.
