The Global Grants Programme facilitates the attendance of delegates who can bring unique and insightful firsthand perspectives to the Space Generation Fusion Forum. This is accomplished through awarding grants to selected applicants that will provide support to attend SGFF and the Space Symposium, held in Colorado Springs, U.S.A.
The winners will receive an award to attend the following events:
- Space Generation Fusion Forum: 10 – 13 April, 2026
- 41st Space Symposium: 13 – 16 April, 2026
The programme grant will cover most of the round-trip travel costs to Colorado Springs via economy airfare, lodging at a hotel or equivalent, visa costs, and the registration fees for both events. The exact amount of the travel grant dedicated to each winner will be communicated to the winners in their acceptance email. In total, USD $10,000 will be split between the winners. The winners will be presented with an award certificate during the SGFF.
How to Apply?
If you have previously volunteered for the Space Generation Advisory Council, you may be eligible for a Global Grant. The Global Grants application is completed as part of the SGFF delegate application process and requires additional extended response answers.
The Global Grants Programme requires two video submissions in the SGFF delegate application process, maximum 1 minute each:
Video 1: Describe your past contributions to SGAC and space sector.
Video 2: Why should you be selected for the 2026 Space Generation Fusion Forum Global Grants program?
Guidelines
Eligibility
- The scholarship is open to all students and young professionals from any UN Member or observer State. Participants must be eligible SGAC members (registered on the SGAC website) between the age of 18 to 35 (inclusive) as of April 10, 2026.
- The award is intended to recognise SGAC volunteers—current or past—who have made outstanding and sustained contributions to the organisation.
- Competition judges and organisers are ineligible for the award.
- Past winners of the Space Generation Leadership Award (Global and Regional) or the Global Grants Programme are ineligible for this award.
In the interest of giving opportunities to more members, SGAC reserves the right to prioritize applicants who have not recently received another SGAC scholarship of a similar nature. “Recently” is defined as having received a travel grant in the past two years, in the same category (either international or regional) as this posted award. International awards include scholarships for international events such as SGC/IAC, SGFF, and Space Symposium, while regional awards refer to events, such as the Space Generation Workshops (SGW), or other regional or national conferences. In the event that the SGFF 2026 is cancelled, this scholarship will not be counted as an international travel grant, and winners are eligible to apply for another travel grant within the next two years.
Submission
- The language of all submissions must be English.
- Applicants shall submit two separate videos, and a video link will be requested. Direct video uploads are not supported.
- Applicants will submit their application through the Space Generation Fusion Forum delegate application form, before December 17, 2025, 23:59 MST (UTC-7) .
- All submissions must be made by the SGFF application close date. Any submissions after the deadline will not be considered.
Responsibilities of the Winner
- The winners will be responsible for assisting with running the Space Generation Fusion Forum if necessary, acting as rapporteur for their discussion group, assisting with the compilation of the SGFF final report, and attending the Space Symposium.
- Winners will be asked to write a short report describing their experience at SGFF and Space Symposium, which may be showcased on the SGAC newsletter, social media, and/or website.
Reimbursement
- The award will be paid out after the Symposium and upon fulfillment of all requirements in a suitable manner, as determined by the scholarship coordinators, including any report submissions and submissions of expense claims. The awards will be paid out no later than 30 days after fulfillment of all responsibilities.
- If applicants receive funding for the 2023 SGFF and/or the 38th Space Symposium from any other organization, the scholarship coordinators must be informed. If applicants do not inform the scholarship coordinators, SGAC reserves the right to refuse reimbursement to the applicants if they become winners. SGAC aims to reduce the number of double scholarships and will work with the winners to develop a solution in these cases.
- Applicants are advised not to incur any expenses until they have formal confirmation that the grant has been awarded. SGAC is not liable for any expenses incurred by applicants in any case where a competition is not awarded, or in excess of the value of the awarded grant.
Copyright and Intellectual Property
- By submitting an entry, applicants agree to permit SGAC to mention their names, affiliations, and headshot picture in connection with the scholarship.
Liability
- SGAC and the organisers shall not be responsible in the event that SGFF 2026 and/or Space Symposium 2026 is cancelled. SGAC will not reimburse the winners, even if they have already incurred expenses.
- SGAC and the organisers shall not be responsible in the event that the award winner fails to attend SGFF 2026 and/or Space Symposium 2026 or is unable to under extenuating circumstances; in such a case the award offer shall become void.
- SGAC and the oganisers shall not be responsible in the event that the award winner cannot obtain any necessary travel documents (visas etc). If such required documents are not obtained prior to planned travel, the award shall become void.
- The award is non-transferable to another individual.
- Following the Reimbursement Guidelines, in the event that event or travel cannot take place due to unforeseeable circumstances (force majeure), including but not limited to illness, death, or weather, the Scholarship Holder will be responsible to try to recover costs through any available travel insurance or trip cancellation insurance. SGAC may reimburse the remaining amount not covered by insurance, at it’s own discretion and on a case-by-case basis.
