Apparently, these things were pretty popular, as they have several in the collection. Colors range from clear to translucent like this one to opaque.

But, there are several other different colorants that produce yellow as well so who knows?
(Looking at how high the uranium contents can be in some of these pieces, it actually would be a good idea to check it.)
The problem has always been actually using the plates for eating and drinking. Once you get the uranium inside you, it is literally millions of times worse.
And while I agree with the study 100%, the engineer in me says to eliminate possible sources of danger such as uranium in the home when there is no clear benefit that exceeds the risk. For me, that would apply with this particular piece. I have seen others that I would consider having in a home collection.
As a side note, we had an artist talk at a nuclear power conference as the lunchtime speaker. He brought along his nuclear reactor - an aquarium with lots of bubblers filled with water and orange pottery colored orange with uranium oxide in the glaze. It was a nice presentation.
