Okay, latest scan of this drawing to show the progress so far. I've got half of the body "plated" or "turtlefied" (whichever works), and should have this finished for posting on Monday.

Hmm, no idea what that is...I don't follow comics (except for "Dela the Hooda", "Sabrina - Online", "Swords & Sausages", and maybe one or two other web comics).

The Skrull are a shape-shifting alien race from Marvel comics. One of them (the Super-Skrull) is able to mimic all the super powers of the Fantastic Four.

Hmm, okay. With the stuff that Marvel Comics has slated, I don't think I'll be bothering with any more of their movies, though I do want to see "Guardians of the Galaxy" that's coming up.

For starters--and this isn't for any sexist reasons on my part--Marvel is recasting Thor as a woman. It's bad enough that they took a Norse diety (there are people who [i]still[/i] worship the Norse pantheon to this day) and made him into a comic book character, but to change his gender just for some politically correct thing or whatever? It's despicable. They're going to be changing Captain America and Tony Stark / Ironman as well, and probably others.

So, just because a character is in someone's mythology, you can't tell any story's with them? Also, how is it being 'politically correct' by making Thor a woman? Yeah, I have mixed feelings about it, but it's comics, unless people REALLY like it, it's probably going to be back to the original Thor (BTW, his gender isn't changing, he's just being replaced with a female character) by this time next year. I mean, they did that whole 'Dr. Octopus takes over Spider-Man's body' thing last year, and it seems to have wrapped up by this point. And there would be no point in changing the genders of Iron Man (who has a distaff counterpart in Pepper Pott's own mech suit) or Captain America (who has a female version in an alternate reality). I mean, if you want to see comic book screw ups, look at DC and their New 52 reboot.

Like I say, I don't follow Marvel or DC Comics, so I have no idea what has been done since the early 1960's, which was the last time I had any idea what those two companies were doing, and even then it was limited. For a while I was into "The Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers", but I'm sure they were before the time of most people on here. ;) I've never heard of "52", so I have no clue about that...and likely don't care to know. I've never heard of "Guardians of the Galaxy" before I saw something mentioned about it, and the only reason why I want to see it is because of Zoe Saldana, and the racoon guy sort of reminds me of Susan Van Camp's charcter L'ming of "Varcel's Vixens". :)

Well, OK. I believe it's alright it's alright if someone has a different opinion than me if they have good reasons. For example, I would be like a dog with a bone (no pun intended) with this if you had some bull crap reason like 'superheroes are stupid' or 'we have the technology to fly like Superman, what's so special?' (I really talked to someone on Facebook who thought that about superheroes). To be honest, I only really got into superhero comics recently, due to the fact I'm a huge fan of the comic book review show "Atop the Fourth Wall" and the "Comics Are Weird" episodes of "The Big Picture" on The Escapist that I just latched on. But I can see you have your reasons, and I apologize for any future comic book references I make in the comments, although I'll try to keep that to a minimum.

Well, I have to ask: what the hell are "The Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers"?
