Sleeping Sweetly

This drawing was done a while ago but I have always been hesitant to post it. Yukiomaru is with his beloved pine marten, sleeping very peacefully. Jun seemed to have waken up a little bit and is adjusting to the smaller arctic fox a little bit.
Young as the arctic fox is, he had commanded entire fleets in a war against the most terrible threat that had presented itself to his race. Yukiomaru is a true prodigy, and his exceptional talent had assisted in winning the war, but his mind is immature and the effects of the war lingered. Only the friendship that he had forged with the pine marten, Jun Fa was he able to rest peacefully and eventually overcome the traumatic experience of war.
Sleeping through the night without nightmares was a rare occurrence, only possible when Jun was close. Fortunately this night, Yukiomaru would not wake up from any nightmares. Although with his left ear under the pine marten's cheek all night, his ear might be a bit sore in the morning.
Yukiomaru and Jun are my most beloved characters, and this has remained one of my favorites drawings: to see these two at peace.
