Strength and Beauty
The City
Nicholas and Malika entered the banquet hall and the Anubian Jackal saw that it was a well light room with a number of tables. Ajihad and Natasha were already here. Vincent was at a spot and sitting next to him was the fosky’s mother. There was also a younger looking husky next to them who looked more like the older one. It was Nicholas’s younger brother. There were also a few others here as well. “Ah Nicholas and Malika!” the husky stated, seeing them. His son went over, but the Anubian Jackal hung back a little to get a look at the vixen. Malika saw how much Nicholas and her looked alike and figured the relationship she had with the fosky.
“You’re just in time,” Linden said and hugged her son.
“Good to hear that,” Nicholas replied. “I didn’t know Lucas was invited here.”
“I was never going to miss this,” the younger sibling replied.
“So… where is she?” the mother vixen asked her eldest son, a playful tone in her voice.
“Mother, I swear to god,” Nicholas growled. “If you think for one moment me and Malika will become a thing, it’s not happening. Anyways, she’s over there.”
With a jerk of his head Linden saw the Anubian Jackal and noticed how quite beautiful she was. Lucas did to and his eyes went wide with shock. “Damn bro, you’re lucky,” the younger sibling said.
“You wouldn’t like her,” Nicholas stated.
“What do you mean?”
Before the long-haired male could answer, a few more people came in. One of them, a female coyote who was just gorgeous came up to the table where Nicholas’s family was at. Malika saw her as well and came closer, curiosity getting the better of her. “Good evening Nicholas,” the new female said to him.
“I should’ve known you’d come Morgan,” the fosky replied.
“So, I heard you’ve been showing a guest around.”
Nicholas rolled his eyes and sighed. “I guess I should introduce her.” He turned around to find Malika close enough but then glared at him when their eyes made contact.
“I’ll do it myself, thank you very much,” the Anubian Jackal snarled. Linden was taken aback seeing the hatred between this female and her son. Malika turned her head to the others. “I am Malika Ruins.”
“Nice to meet you,” Morgan replied, putting on a small curtsy as best as possible in her outfit that was white with pink lines. “I’m Morgan.”
The Anubian Jackal nodded then turned to the mother vixen and sibling. Lucas broke the ice and got up. “I’m Lucas,” he said and held out a paw to shake it. Malika hesitated and then they shook.
“Nice to meet you to,” the vixen said and the females also shook paws. “I’m Linden, Nicholas’s mother.”
“Is that so?” the Anubian Jackal stated. “Hard to believe that someone like him is your son.”
“What was that?!” he snarled.
Just then the king and queen of this city stood up to greet the guests. Malika and Nicholas took seats as far apart as possible from the other. Everyone began to eat and the Anubian Jackal found herself talking with Morgan. The first female found she actually liked the second one as the coyote was pleasant. She learned that the second canine was the daughter of one of the king and queen’s council members. That made her very important, almost as much as Nicholas and his family. But that wasn’t any reason to underestimate Morgan. She knew how to fight as well and was quite capable in battle.
That night Malika slept well in her room that she had been taken to the first time. She woke up well rested and found that a messenger of some kind was waiting for her outside her door after the female got ready. “Er… can I help you?” she asked.
“I was sent by Vincent to come get you,” the messenger replied. “That is if you are.”
“Where are we going?”
“He wouldn’t say other than to take you to the garage.”
Malika was curious now and followed him after grabbing her sword down a flight of stairs that went to a basement like room. Entering showed this was where the carriage like vehicles were placed. Vincent was here and standing beside one that was colored blue and there was a driver already there. “Thank you for bringing her here,” he told the messenger who bowed and left.
“So what am I doing here?” the female asked.
“Simple; so I could show you around,” went the voice of Nicholas with a growl and he stepped out from behind the carriage.
“And don’t think you’ll get out of it; it’s not happening thanks to my dad,” the fosky said before Malika could open her mouth.
“He’s in charge of you so he’s going to show you around the city,” Vincent said.
Malika growled and crossed her arms. “Fine!” she snarled. “But I swear if he tries anything at all, someone is going to be killed!”
“Only if you do!” he snapped back. The door was then opened and she got in with him taking a seat right across. The insides matched but the two were looking anywhere else but at the other. Her arms were still crossed and her legs followed suit. The vehicle then left the garage and exited the palace and into the bright sunny city.
They went first to the main area and made a stop. “You wait here while I go run in and get my mother something,” Nicholas said with a stern look to Malika. “If you so much as leave, I’ll pin you down like before.”
“YOU!” she snarled, reaching for her sword that was at her feet since the female had been forced to take it off her hip in order to sit. The fosky was too quick and left the carriage like vehicle. Malika slumped back in her seat in anger. He was back five minutes later with some kind of bag and placed it in a storage area in the back of the carriage. He then got in and they were off. The vehicle went around the city. Malika saw there was another garden like area here along with a library, museum, the schools, bank, and all the other buildings needed to keep this city running. She made note of where the doctor was as it was located at the hospital building. There was also a huge pool here. Even though the river was another great place to swim, this was also handy during the times the river was dangerous.
The vehicle then stopped at a building that was right by a colosseum. “This is the armory,” Nicholas said, a frown on his face when noticing Malika was glaring daggers at him and barring her teeth. “It’s perfectly placed by the colosseum. I was told to take you here to have a look at your sword.”
“My sword is fine, thank you very much!” the female snapped. “And don’t even think about touching it!”
“Wasn’t fucking going to!” he growled. “Now come on!” The guy got out and the female grabbed her sword and followed him with a huff. Neither of them were expecting what was going to come next while in there.
