And now we come back to us here and I have to say the shading for her I think came out good for a first try.

Month of Thanks
The month of November then came in. The city was taking a small breather before the time of December came in. During the last Thursday the day of Thanks would happen. It was a time before the end of the year where one reflected on the year giving thanks for good things that happened to them, remembering them, and spending time with family. Despite running into Malika this year, the fosky had so many good things that made it seem not like a big deal. However, he noticed that the Anubian Jackal as the day got closer, became quieter and quieter. Oh she would still snap at him and they would argue and fight. But it seemed to be less this month than the others that had happened combined. Morgan also noticed this as well. This came to a head a couple of weeks before the day happened. The fosky and Malika as usual were in the dining hall and had finished breakfast. The female coyote was here as well.
“So… where or what do you want to do today?” the long-haired male asked with a frown to the Anubian Jackal. They were standing up and her back was towards him.
“Nothing,” she growled in response.
“That’s not going to work,” he stated. “I need to get some stuff for my family for Thanks Day and my father made it clear that you needed to come with me.”
“I’ll pass,” Malika growled again.
“You want us to get in trouble again?!” Nicholas snapped, pissed off at her.
“I’m not going to and he can go to hell!” the Anubian Jackal suddenly yelled and stormed out of the room. The male was taken aback by her outburst.
“Boy, she’s pissed today,” he said, but also a little confused as she had never acted this pissed before.
“I’ll go talk with her,” Morgan commented. She smiled at him and then followed the other female.
The coyote found the Anubian Jackal at the garden. “Malika?” Morgan asked.
The first female turned to the second female and the coyote was startled to see Malika had tears running down her face. “Oh… hey Morgan,” the Anubian Jackal sniffed.
“I knew I’d found you here. Are… are you okay?”
“Just peachy! Never been better!” Malka then sighed and wiped her eyes. “Sorry Morgan. I didn’t mean to sound harsh just now. It’s just the thought of this holiday is a touchy subject for me.”
“So Nicholas had nothing to do with it?”
“No. As much as I hate him, he’s not the main reason. He was just the spark that added to the fire,” Malika replied. “I also didn’t want him to see my tears.”
The coyote approached the Anubian Jackal. “Do you want to talk about it?” Morgan asked.
“I’m not ready to yet…”
“I understand…” The first female reached out to hug Malika who flinched before hugging the coyote back. Both female’s weren’t bi in the least but already they felt close enough as friends to comfort the other in times of trouble. They pulled back. “If it’s about your past and where you came from, I’ll be all ears along with any other troubles you may have.”
“Thank you Morgan,” the Anubian Jackal smiled. “That’s already has made me feel better.”
“You do know my parents like you right? So do my niece. At least one thing you should be thankful for is meeting me and them. If you want, you could spend the day with us.”
“I think I will. I’ll have to talk to a few people first about it.” Malika did with the rulers and Nicholas’s father. Seeing how much she wanted to, they agreed to it and that she could help out Morgan’s family prepare for the day. Nicholas was just fine with it. However, both were told in exchange for this, they would help the fosky’s family next month. The Anubian Jackal and him weren’t happy about this but at least she wouldn’t have an outburst next month. During Thanks Day, the entire city was spent in that mood of remembering the good things that had happened this year and spending time with their families. Malika had a wonderful time with Morgan’s family and for the first time since being here, she felt happy. Nicholas did learn from Morgan what had been talked to about the Anubian Jackal, but the fosky just shrugged it off. However both were going to find it hard next month with the holiday that came around and interacting with each other.

It may not be Thanksgiving but I still think that there could be a holiday very similar to that.
