BTW, Grissom AFB had A-10s while I lived in the area in the 1980s. They replaced A-38 (?) Dragonflies.
I agree with GoliathWildcat It was the dumbest move our government had done retiring the F-14.
Lucky sot, I wish I could've seen on in person myself, but unfortunately, I've only seen them on T.V. and in books and of course on the net.
