Collar 13 -- I Am Called

Title can't be empty.

At long last, we get to see more than a little of Fletcher's background, and with so simple a trigger as a name, he begins to fill in the gaps of his past. The real name of this chapter is "I Am Called...", but after another recent experience with the title (using an ampersand, and wiping out the whole entry), I wasn't sure if the database would want the ellipsis either!

I know, Graham and Fletcher are adorable together and I really want to see the rest of the problems they may come across, especially when it comes to the... "father" of Fletcher and such. He's going to be an asshole and even now I feel like he's going to make everyone's life hell. But they can get through it! Probably! *thumbs up*

Some big reveals, and a dastardly-deacon ... Good chapter! I imagine somewhere along the line, Axel will try to cause trouble -- as will the meerkat -- but there's a good family protecting Fletcher, and they'll be certain to keep him safe and loved. BTW, I really enjoyed that morning prayer -- is that something you came up with or is it a traditional morning giving of thanks? :)

There's definitely some mischief a-paw, but Fletcher is, as you say, under strong protections. As regards the morning prayer... I feel sure that I've heard some bit of it from somewhere, but it's overall my creation. If it turns out I've lifted it from somewhere without realizing it, I'll surely give credit where it's due. I sent it to a friend of mine who is Anglican, and he told me that he thought it very good "for an old pagan" (he teased, with a big grin). I can't be sure, but I think he may have presented it to his vicar.

Even though I don't believen in "God" I always thought that religion, if practiced in a good way, can be a good thing.
I really like how you write about it. If all religions were practiced like this, we'd probably have world-peace in the blink of an eye.

I'm not a particularly religious wolf myself; I spent a few years in a Catholic school, in the 1960s, and I've been wary of those who would put man-made pedantry above the single simplest and most important point of all -- "God is Love." I think Graham is learning far more now than he did when he was at seminary. Shall I be daring and remember the comment that "a child shall lead them"...?

Ok, i take it back, I will not hex you up n' shit. I'm still sore after that last chapter ending but you HAVE redeemed yourself, so I'm calling us even.
