Perfect Start into the Ski Season at Melchsee Frutt
Winter came to Europe early this year. First snow covered the mountains and allowed many non-glacier ski resorts in the Alps to open earlier than usual. My husband and I took advantage of this situation and started our ski season on the first weekend in December. As this was also the weekend of my birthday, we celebrated it while swishing down the perfectly prepared slopes of my favoured ski resort Melchsee-Frutt in Central Switzerland.
Summer day at Mürren, Schilthorn & Lauterbrunnen
When our friends come to visit us in August, my husband and I decided to took them to the picturesque village of Mürren and 2,970 m high summit Schithorn in Berner Oberland (Bernese Oberland). With its majestic mountains, charming little villages, and unspoiled nature is one of my favourite regions of Switzerland.

Video: Ski trip to Klewenalp Stockhütte
Days are getting shorter and shorter and temperatures are slowly, but steadily dropping. Winter is well on its way to the Northern hemisphere. I’m already dreaming about snowy sunny winter days at the ski slopes. While counting the days till then, I’m reminiscing about my past ski trips, more precisely about one particular trip – trip to Klewenalp Stockhütte in Central Switzerland where I’ve skied on a sunny day in March.

Mt Pilatus hike
Like every year in the summer, my husband’s parents came to visit us in Lucerne. Because they recently got crazy about hiking, their visit was supposed to be a series of hiking trips around Swiss Alps. Unfortunately due to the rainy weather, we’ve only managed to do one hiking trip. This was the trip to Pilatus, Lucerne’s home mountain.

Oeschinen Lake revisited
On a sunny Sunday in June I’ve visited gorgeous Oeschinen Lake (Oeschinensee) for the second time. Some of you might remember, I’ve already been there previous summer and I loved the area. When friends invited us to go hiking there, my husband and I didn’t hesitate long before we accepted the invitation to this stunning alpine lake in the midst of the Swiss Alps.

Cows of Switzerland – Part 3
Swiss cows are essential part of Swiss culture and landscape – so important, it is hard to imagine Switzerland without its cows. Did you know more than 700.000 cows live in Switzerland? Here are some of those amazing animals I’ve had a pleasure to meet on my trips around Switzerland accompanied with some interesting facts about them:

Bannalp
- The most common cow breeds in Switzerland are Simmental cattle, Brown Swiss cattle, Holstein cattle and Eringer cattle.

The spring is in its full bloom, and I finally managed to complete the video of my February ski trip to Melchsee Frutt, a small ski resort in Central Switzerland. I hope you all enjoyed this trip down memory lane.
Sunday Walk to Bireggwald
Despite I live in Luzern for some time now, I still haven’t explored all of its corners. Previous weekend my husband and I went to one of the parts of Luzern we’ve never been to – to Bireggwald, a peaceful forrest in the midst of Luzern with a lovely walking trails and plentiful of stunning panoramic views of the Lake Luzern (Vierwaldstättersee) and Mt. Pilatus.
Spring skiing at Klewenalp-Stockhütte
Klewenalp-Stockhütte is small ski resort in Central Switzerland I have visited in mid-March with my husband. This ski resort consist of two areas: Klewenalp, which is accessible by aerial gondola from the village of Beckenried and Stockhütte , which is accessible by cable car from the village of Emmeten.

Skiing in Sankt Moritz
Sankt Moritz is a well known ski resort in the Upper Engadine (Oberengadin) region, in the canton Graubünden. It lies at the 1856 m altitude and has a reputation of being the birthplace of Alpine winter tourism. One of the first ski lifts in Switzeland began running in there in 1935. The town has hosted the Winter Olympics twice: in 1928 and 1948. In February it had also hosted the 2017 FIS Ski World Championship. As such, it was a clear choice for this year’s annual ski trip with my father, brother and husband.
