Thing the first-- ye gods, I feel like roadkill this morning. I got almost ten hours of sleep last night, but I woke up feeling like I could easily sleep for five more hours. Plus, I was nauseated by belief. Knowing that this has no gestational basis, I'm kind of perplexed. Half a Pepsi and a blueberry muffin later, I feel a little better, but today's workday is going to be torturously long. I forsee a very early bedtime in my immediate future.

Thing the second-- my Starbucks has pumpkin spice lattes! Tomorrow, one shall be mine.

Thing the third-- holy BPAL update, Batman!

Cut for much, much scrolling and commentary.Collapse )

What I got: Punkie Night, Pumpkin Queen, Samhainophobia, Black Moon, and two imps of Mag Mell and Les Bijoux.

What I still want to try: Silence, All Souls, The Brides of Dracula, Carfax Abbey, The Carpathian Mountains, The Castle, Count Dracula, Quincey Morris, and Wilhemina Murray. I also want a bottle of Doc Constantine.

Oy.
I just scheduled the first two of my mandatory three instructor-led driving sessions. As luck would have it, all three of their driving instructors are on vacation during the same week-- the week before I'm taking my test. Lovely.

On top of that, they don't schedule students to take their driving tests on Saturdays-- which means on top of taking a half-day on Sept. 11th so I can complete class #2, I'll have to take a half day on whatever workday I take my test. And if I fail it the first time, another half-day.

All this just to have a license-- since I can't afford car insurance on my wages after paying $200/mo. student loans, rent, my credit card bill, and groceries. For real, being young and poor and just out of college sucks royally. Realistically, I'll have to change jobs before I get a car. I'm lucky that my cousin has offered me use of her antediluvian vehicle, lovingly named 'Putt Putt', until I get something better, but it's the insurance that may well break the bank, with me being a new driver and all. And even if I could afford it, I would be seriously, seriously without any coin leftover for spending money. Of course, changing jobs looks like it's going to have to happen soon anyhow, but to have to do it for financial reasons just makes it suck even more.

Further ranting.Collapse )

Everybody says that getting your license is supposed to be so liberating. All I can muster is, 'eh, what a pain in the ass.'
