Frankincense: Ancient Wonder

Posted on September 28, 2016September 28, 2016 by sidraowens

Recently, I did a post about natural remedies to everyday problems.  It included apple cider vinegar, lavender essential oil and a few others.  This is an update to that.  I want to share with you all the wonders of frankincense essential oil.

I have not been using essential oils long, but it did not take me long to understand that frankincense is one of the most, if not the most potent and powerful essential oil around.  It is also expensive.  So it took me a fair amount of time to order it, but once I did, I must say I don’t know how my family has lived without it.

Anecdote #1:

I have a six year old and as most parents know, rough and tumble kids get minor scrapes and abrasions all the time.  On this particular Friday afternoon, she comes home with a scratch across her right cheek.  It was slightly raised and red, but causing little discomfort.  The frankincense oil had arrived the previous Wednesday, so I thought what the hell.  I mixed several drops of the oil with my carrier oil of choice, which is jojoba oil.  I dabbed some with a q-tip and spread it across the scratch.  She returned to playing and all was well.  Four hours later at bed time, I repeated the process.  Fast forward, 24 hours later, at bed time, once she is lying down, I think, “I need to apply more oil.  She has school pictures in five days.”  So, I dab some on a q-tip and go to apply it to her cheek, but… I can’t find it.  I lean closer and closer, but it is nowhere to be seen.  So, naturally, I retrieve a LED flashlight and after leaning down to a distance of six inches from her face, I finally see a super thin scabby mark where the original scratch had been.  Amazed, I applied the oil and the next day, I could not even see that.  By the time picture day arrived, she was scratch free and ready for her close up.

Anecdote #2

I suffer from sensitive.  It’s very reactive and I break out easily.  I’m plagued with eczema, but I deal with it.  On this particular day, a particular painful bump appeared on my back and thought to myself, once again, what the hell.  I applied the bump for two days and by the third day my boyfriend could not even see it anymore.

Anecdote #3

The reason why I bought the oil to begin with, was so that I could naturally treat my ganglion cysts.  After two days of applications, they have reduced in size and much of the burning pain associated with them has faded.

Anecdote #4

Lastly, I have used it to retreat the acne on my face.  Anyone with acne knows that oil on the face is generally a no-no; a big no-no, unless you want to be riddled with painful blemishes.  But one more time, I thought what the hell and used it, with a carrier oil, and it worked better than the daily cleanser my doctor recommended.

I really just can’t say enough about this stuff.  And this is only scratching the surface regarding all the things the frankincense oil can do.  Research it yourself and give it a try.  It’s anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial, healing, scar reducing effects are a must have for any home.  The pharmaceutical companies can’t manufacture anything this wonderful unless side effects include, oily flatulence, high blood pressure and death.  Anyway, give it an honest try.  5,000 years of use world-wide used can’t be wrong.
