Indutrade's Code of Conduct is our corporate sustainability policy and is an important part of our sustainability efforts. It is our guideline for who we want to be and how we want to appear. The code applies to all employees within the Indutrade Group, in all countries.
The Code of Conduct is based on the basic values of the 10 principles from the Global Compact for sustainable business, the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises and other internationally recognized standards.
The Code of Conduct contains guidelines for several key areas such as environment, health and safety, business ethics including anti-corruption, employee relations, human rights and community impact. 97% of Indutrade companies have implemented the Code of Conduct in their operations.
Every employee contributes to ensuring that Indutrade's businesses are seen as reliable companies that take responsibility and always honor their commitments. At Indutrade, long-term business relationships are the basis for creating value for customers and shareholders. We strive to interact with the environments in which we operate, with our employees, our business partners and society as a whole.
We work according to the following principles:
- Legal compliance - Our work adheres to applicable laws in the countries in which we operate.
- Ethical business practices - Our goal is to operate in an ethical manner and we will adopt legally sound business practices in all respects.
- Meaningful dialogue with stakeholders - We strive to conduct our business through meaningful dialogue with our employees, our business partners and other stakeholders who affect and are affected by our operations.
- Employee responsibility - Our employees should adhere to Indutrade's principles and take responsibility for both their own behavior and Indutrade's products and services.
Employees who observe deviations from the Code of Conduct or suspect inappropriate behavior can report it through an external whistleblower scheme (anonymously, if they wish). The whistleblower scheme is also open to suppliers, partners and subcontractors of subsidiaries. Read more about whistleblowing here.
Responsibilities and organization
The Code of Conduct has been adopted by the Board of Directors and is available to all our employees, for example through our communication platform Indutrade Portal. The Code of Conduct has also been translated from Swedish into several other languages.
Indutrade's president and CEO is ultimately responsible for the Code of Conduct, while responsibility for compliance and oversight rests with the president of each subsidiary.
Code of Conduct for suppliers and partners
A Code of Conduct for Suppliers and Partners was implemented in 2019. The Code of Conduct for Suppliers and Partners can be used by Indutrade subsidiaries in their business relationships with suppliers and partners. Signing the Code of Conduct obligates suppliers and partners to act responsibly when it comes to the environment, working conditions, human rights and ethical business practices.
A significant part of Indutrade's impact on the environment and the world around us occurs in the supply chains of our subsidiaries. Many of Indutrade's subsidiaries do not have their own production. The products they sell are produced in countries where working conditions, environmental regulations and business ethics (including anti-corruption) may differ. It is therefore crucial that we work with our suppliers and partners as a way to contribute to sustainable development. 81% of Indutrade companies had included third parties in whole or in part in the Code of Conduct.
