THE SECOND ACT STRATEGIST
Privacy Policy
Effective Date: April 25, 2026
Privacy Policy
Your privacy matters. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices regarding that information when you interact with The Second Act Strategist, a Substack publication operated by Tracy Friedlander through Mastery Life, Inc. (”we,” “us,” “our”).
1. Substack Platform Data Collection
This publication is hosted on Substack. By using this publication, you are also subject to Substack’s own Privacy Policy, which governs how the platform collects, stores, and uses your data independently of us.
Substack may collect information including but not limited to your email address, IP address, device and browser information, location data, reading activity, and engagement behavior. Some of this data is made available to us as the publisher through Substack’s analytics dashboard — such as aggregate readership data, subscriber activity, and geographic information.
We use this data solely to understand how our content is performing and to improve what we publish. We do not export, sell, or share Substack dashboard data with any third party. For full details on what Substack collects and how it is used, we encourage you to review Substack’s Privacy Policy directly.
2. Information We Collect Directly
Through Substack: When you subscribe to The Second Act Strategist (free or paid), Substack collects your email address, name (if provided), and payment information for paid subscribers. This data is collected and managed by Substack in accordance with their privacy policy.
Through Kit (formerly ConvertKit): We maintain a separate email list through Kit. You are never automatically added to this list by subscribing to our Substack. You may be added to our Kit email list under the following circumstances:
(a) You voluntarily opt in by downloading a free resource or lead magnet offered through the publication. These opt-ins are clearly presented as separate from your Substack subscription, and it is obvious that you are signing up for an additional email list.
(b) You purchase a course, cohort, or workshop. When you make a purchase, your email will be added to our Kit list for the purpose of sending 1–2 emails per week related to building an audience online through writing on Substack and other social platforms. These emails are educational in nature and relevant to the subject matter of your purchase.
Through Course & Payment Platforms: If you purchase a course, cohort, or workshop, your transaction is processed through third-party platforms (such as Course Creator 360, Stripe, or Kit Commerce). These platforms may collect payment and contact information in accordance with their own privacy policies.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to deliver the content, products, and services you’ve signed up for. Specifically:
• To send your Substack subscription emails (managed by Substack).
• To send educational emails through Kit if you have opted in or made a purchase, at a frequency of 1–2 emails per week.
• To deliver course materials, cohort communications, and workshop access.
• To respond to questions or support requests you send us.
• To review aggregate analytics from Substack’s publisher dashboard in order to improve our content.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for their marketing purposes.
4. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services in operating this publication and business. Each has its own privacy policy governing how your data is handled:
• Substack (newsletter hosting and paid subscriptions)
• Kit, formerly ConvertKit (email marketing)
• Course Creator 360 (course delivery)
• Stripe (payment processing)
We encourage you to review the privacy policies of these services if you have questions about how your data is handled on their platforms.
5. Cookies & Analytics
Substack and Kit may use cookies, tracking pixels, or similar technologies to analyze how you interact with emails and website content. We may review aggregate analytics data (such as open rates or page views) to improve our content. We do not use this data to personally identify or target individual subscribers beyond what is standard to these platforms.
6. Your Rights & Choices
You may unsubscribe from our Substack emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email.
You may unsubscribe from our Kit email list at any time using the unsubscribe link included in every Kit email.
If you would like your information removed from our records entirely, please contact us and we will process your request within a reasonable timeframe.
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you may have additional rights under GDPR, including the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. Please contact us to exercise these rights.
7. Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children’s Privacy
This publication and its offerings are not directed at individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected such information, we will take steps to delete it.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by an updated effective date. Continued use of the publication after changes have been posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
