AC Black Flag Resynced’s Pricy Microtransactions Have Fans Outraged - IGN Daily Fix

15 hours, 57 minutes - In today's Daily Fix:Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced has debuted with a series-high 100,000 concurrent players on Steam. Although reviews have been very good so far, not everyone's happy. Many gamers are shocked at the amount of microtransactions, with some upset that they shelled out extra $$ for digital deluxe edition of what they assumed would be a content complete version of the game. Ubisoft has heard the complaints, but it's unclear if there will be any price adjustments or "make-good" for those who bought the digital deluxe edition. In other news, Call of Duty: Blacks Ops 1 and 2 have officially been ported to the PS4 and PS5, but don't expect a comprehensive remaster. The folks at Digital Foundry have found the games to be lacking in modern technical flourishes like 4K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate (the games are capped at 1080p60). And finally, we end the week with a roundup of the latest game releases.

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced Video Review

3 days, 3 hours - Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced reviewed by Jarrett Green on PC, also available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S."While the original Black Flag holds up well enough that it probably wouldn’t have been my first pick for an Assassin’s Creed remake, sailing the high seas, sending other tubs to Davy Jones’ Locker, uncovering ancient secrets, and asking “What does that have to do with me getting rich, exactly?” have made it clear Resynced was a necessary second pass over one of the best games in the series. More than just a face lift, it also brings Black Flag’s systems and sensibilities up to today’s standards. Both land and sea combat have been bolstered by new tricks that add depth and clarity to all of the action. The top-tier story of the Kenway patriarch proves it’s beloved for a reason, with extra content that further fleshes out certain character moments. Missions have been adjusted and restructured just enough to take advantage of the mostly smart updates to parkour and stealth. Even where it stumbles, like its long-standing issues with overly sticky free running or sometimes dumb enemies, it never feels like a step backward. As a result, there's never been a better time, or a better way, to return to the Golden Age of Piracy."

Xbox Boss Asha Sharma Admits Game Pass Strategy Has Failed - IGN Daily Fix

3 days, 16 hours - In today's Daily Fix:In an interview with Bloomberg, Xbox boss Asha Sharma has admitted Game Pass was in a period of decline when she took over for former head Phil Spencer. But now they seemed to have stopped the bleeding, after dropping the price of the service and removing Call of Duty as a Day One title. Still, Xbox has admitted that the previous strategy of pumping money and resources into Game Pass has not paid off, and are now in the process of offloading some of the studios they've acquired to boost the service's value. In other news, Assassin's Creed: Black Flag - Resynced has already sold more in pre-orders than Ubisoft's other pirate game, Skull and Bones, has sold in its lifetime. And finally, IO Interactive has closed one of its studios—despite having a hit with 007: First Light—after Xbox funding for an upcoming game was pulled.

Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced: The Final Preview

3 weeks, 1 day - After playing through a few missions of Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced recently, I now have a better understanding of what to expect from this ambitious remake, which included narrative additions, new options for carrying out my assassinations, and other bits and baubles along the way that have increased my interest in replaying through Kenway’s epic tale of pillaging and unloading flintlocks into the chests of unsuspecting lawmen.
