7 Reasons Why the AC Black Flag Remake Could be Amazing (and 3 Concerns...)

1 month, 1 week - If there was ever a consensus on Assassin’s Creed it’s this: Black Flag is the best one. So the prospect of a remake is both exciting and scary: what if they get it wrong? Well, based on verything we know about the upcoming Black Flag Resynced, here's 7 things we love the sound of and 3 things we're dreading. From the exciting new quests that bring back Edward Kenway’s original voice and mocap actor Matt Ryan, to expanded upgrade paths for the Jackdaw (plus an in-game cat), and a seamless Caribbean world free of loading screens. Plus, the confirmed return of the Kenway's Fleet meta-game.However, it’s not all smooth sailing: Black Flag Resynced omits a huge part of the original story and leaves out the Freedom Cry DLC, so however you slice it, it's not a complete, definitive package. But does that matter? Is the visual upgrade and gameplay overhaul worth losing the entire modern day story for? Resident Assassin's Creed superfan Jim Trinca has some thoughts.

Assassin's Creed: Black Flag Resynced Features Major Changes from the Original - IGN Daily Fix

2 months, 2 weeks - In today's Daily Fix:Ubisoft has finally lifted the curtain on one of the worst-kept secrets in modern gaming: the remake of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag. Officially titled Assassin's Creed: Black Flag Resynced, this is a single-player-focused game that does not include the Freedom Cry DLC or the multiplayer component of the original. But it does feature new crewmates, a refined combat system, and parkour movement more akin to recent AC games like Shadows. In other news, BioWare gave a brief update on Mass Effect 5, only to say that, yes, they're busy. Better than nothing, right? And finally, Toho is expanding their Godzilla universe with Godzilla World, an interconnected cinematic universe for their version of Godzilla (not the Legendary version, which is part of the MonsterVerse with King Kong).

Is Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Remake Ubisoft's Most-Leaked Game Yet? - Beyond Clips

5 months - Check out the full episode of Podcast Beyond here! - https://youtu.be/1MldDp_rPqk?si=vjxYXuzLg9smeQTpWe’ve been hearing about a remake of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag (rumored to be titled Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced) for what feels like years now, with Edward Kenway’s voice actor all but confirming it, and a newly leaked statue of the pirate protagonist is such a blatant giveaway that this is a real project, the official Assassin’s Creed Twitter account chimed in to crack a joke about it. When is this thing coming out? Beyond! This weeks show is hosted by Max Scoville and Brian Altano, and is produced by Nick Maillet

We Don’t Need PlayStation 6 Yet, We Have PS5 At Home - IGN Beyond 932

5 months - The PlayStation 5 will have been out for six years this fall, which is usually when console manufacturers start looking ahead to next-gen hardware. But that might not be the case for Sony anytime soon, as one industry analyst claims a variety of factors will see the PlayStation 6’s launch pushed to 2029 or later. We have mixed feelings about this, but ultimately, we don’t really feel like the PS5 has hit its stride quite yet, and while it’s a great machine, there are plenty of players still able to play some of the most popular games on PS4. So, maybe the solution on the hardware front isn’t a new generation of powerful hardware, but some different iterations of current gen that take into account how people are playing. After all, 7% of PS5 owners in the US also picked up a PlayStation Portal, which suggests they’d be willing to sacrifice fidelity and screen real estate for a more intimate gaming experience. In other news, a new set of PlayStation accessories for Figma action figures includes a 1:12 scale replica of Bloodborne, and yet more evidence emerges that Assassin’s Creed Black Flag is getting a remake any day now, and it’s such an open secret, even Ubisoft is making jokes about it.
