What We Believe
We ascribe to the Baptist Faith & Message alongside cooperating Southern Baptist Convention churches. Southern Baptists believe that the Bible is God’s revelation of Himself to mankind, with His ultimate revelation being the Gospel message of redemption through Jesus Christ.

A history of growth and giving
On October 3, 1958, the State Convention of Baptists in Indiana (SCBI) became the 29th state convention to join the SBC. Our original purpose was “to establish, strengthen, and inspire the churches in missionary, educational, and benevolent enterprises.”
Over the past six decades, eight executive directors have served our convention, helping us grow and be committed to the mission. We have built up to 450 churches and church plants across the state and expanded our budget.
Even so, we seek to do more with less without sacrificing quality and effectiveness. As the state has changed, we have changed with it, reaching more communities and using our resources more efficiently to reach Indiana and the world.
