Program info
RoboHordes is a 3D robot combat game demo utilizing advanced robot configuration and simulation technology developed by Naked Sky Entertainment. Powered by Unreal Engine 3, the game features fast-paced action and massive numbers of robots, all behaving according to the rules of physics and without a single frame of hand-generated animation.
RoboHordes was commissioned by Intel to showcase its dual-core processor with hyper-threading technology. With a mere 8-week development cycle, RoboHordes debuted in March, 2005 at the Intel Developer Forum and Game Developers Conference. An enhanced version of the demo, which supported multiplayer, was showcased at E3 in May. Intel began bundling the free demo with shipments of its dual-core processor worldwide in June of 2005.
