April
a poem, month by month
Here is my poem for the month of April, along with some of my photos. I hope you enjoy it 🩷
April
The ground is thawing, the flowers sprouting up.
This year it’s been a slow growth after winter’s cold blanket was thrust upon us.
She has lingered longer than expected, but no need to fear, the showers are melting away the frost, the earth is sighing, thankful the rain is here.
Soon, mud will splatter our boots, stain our clothes, and bring childhood near.
Bright spring blossoms will adorn the trees, the breeze will whisper hope of all the things you cannot yet see.
Layers will shed, the sun will shine and I will recall memories of a younger time.
Cherry blooms hang against the blue sky, bees happily drinking nectar before they fly.
And we will fly, too, right into April’s warmth, into a brilliant embrace, to find airiness and light, her spectacular grace.

April is the month my grandmother entered this world and also, when she left it. It’s a month I remember for Easter, for flowers sprouting up in full bloom, warmth radiating around me, it’s a month I can vividly remembering being a child in, the excitement of the sun’s return and longer days. I still have that childlike wonder around it, excited for what’s to come.
💭 What is something you are looking forward to this month?
Thank you for spending your time with me today, I’m so glad you’re here!
Until next time ✌🏻
Here’s a few of my other monthly poems:

you know rion, i tried writing a poem for april, thinking i could be like you. but yk what it was so bad that i may just have to burn it unfortunately (ik i burn most of my poems like i don’t even really know how to write one). compared to you tho??? yuh i mean it doesn’t come close, i meannnnnn rionnnnnn your poetry has to be one of the most beautiful arts of work that i have ever laid my two eyes on. i mean come on rionnnnnn im literally just in awe right now. your imagery has to be the most beautiful thing about you, kind of like marie rose in a way - just more of a blooming sunflower type of style :)
beautiful photos and words <3 magical month
