This okra ‘cousin’
hibiscus yields a fine drink
and nectar when sucked!

‘Greens’ and okra, too,
get a long cool drink today:
October looks dry!
Okra* grows towards
its third set of early leaves:
canopy to come!
*(When one sees the purple interior and the feathery fine pale yellow petals, then one truly grasps that this eaten-fresh-of-the-stalk fruit truly is cousin to the Hibiscus. And the hibiscus, when its flowers are dried, can become aqua fresca of tradition or in my case a more fulsome treat…one gallon dehydrated flowers brought to a boil and then steeped in a 3-gallon pot of water, when the leaves are rescued and turned into compost {a few further rescued to add to an hibiscus/orange juice/strawberry salad dressing} with the addition of 1 cup of granulated sugar or stevia and one cup of key lime juice, you have a hot tea drink beyond compare and when cut 2- or 3-to-1 with cold water a refreshing drink summer or winter for appreciating what nature hath wrought!)
time to plant okra,
wild garlic and wild onions
and spread the compost.
The secret is not
“what grows” but more “what survives:”
gardens or greatness!
Learn to thrive despite “the means.
Cherish parsley truth and okra!
got to get me some
red okra so I can grill
them or eat ’em raw
