Ok wow I hate to add to the drops but my rp drive has plummeted to nothing and I don't want to character squat, so I'm gonna have to let Hank go back home for a while. I'm hoping that after a month or two my drive will pick back up and I'll be able to return but we'll see! I love this game and the people in it so I definitely want to come back. 

Apologies to everyone I had threads and ideas with but I'm sure we'll get the chance to play together again even if I don't come back here.

Also, Hank won't be disappearing until the 27th so just assume he's holed up in his room or doing sciencey things or whatever for now.

Gosh, okay, I feel like such a jerk doing this considering I just picked Claire up, but I'm going to have to drop her. Personally I would like to stay here at LJ, and also my term is also about to start and I was probably kidding myself that I could keep up with a game and my classes at the same time.

Major apologies to my castmates! I'm really glad I got a chance to meet some folks here, though, everyone I've played with has been great. :)

I was hoping I could catch up after the break, but things have only gotten worse on the RL side, so I'm going to have to let Charles go instead of dragging it out (even more than I have). I know I had some plans with people, so apologise to them and my castmates for not being around as much as I should have recently.

...I'm going to go ahead and take this time to say I'm sending Hazama on home today. It's not because of the game or the move, but because I have been out of the loop with things for nearly a whole month and...the drive basically went dead during the whole LJ update. As I have no other characters here, that means I've drop out from Exitvoid too.

I'm sorry to everyone and to my castmate as well. For what it's worth, when everything is all said and done, I'm happy to have been able to play with all of you here. This place helped create an amazing learning experience for me with this character and I had a lot of fun playing out ideas with you guys. So I really do appreciate everyone I've ever threaded with here.

Probably really sucky of me to be dropping the ball on everyone as it hasn't even been a month, but I'm gonna have to bow out of this game. I love the muse a lot, but I admit that I haven't really gotten into the setting much between real life and LJ being difficult for everyone, and the move pretty much sealed the deal for me. I enjoyed what little threads I got here though, and thanks for having me here, EV! Maybe we can catch each other in other games.

Hello everyone, and welcome to Day 26! For Days 26 & 27, we encourage you guys to have fun with the ICly available 12days introductions and plot amongst yourselves-- we won't be running any events otherwise so it can remain YMMV and no one gets left out during the move.

That's right, you heard me-- we're closing the poll now since about 95% of our players have voted, and the answer is clear: we're moving to DW! The results are here for your perusal, but long story short-- 76 to 16, yay/nay. We've already created the communities over on DW with the same names, and account creation will remain free and open for another couple weeks to accommodate all the RPers moving over! It was just answered in a support question on DW this morning.

There was a lot of emotionally-charged discussion on this topic, so we kindly ask that you not take it any further! The decision has been made, and whether you move or not is entirely up to you, and no one will judge your decisions; but no more grief needs to come from this move. On the other hand, if you do move over and you need any help whatsoever, just ask! We'll have a support post to organize for anyone that wants to assist their gamemates on any problems, as well as a list of resources down below and on that post as well (which I'll make after this entry on the DW OOC comm.)

Now, regarding the move!!: ACCOUNT CREATION IS FREE! so please make sure you at least create your accounts immediately before invite codes are an additional hassle. There will also be NO GAME HIATUS! No worries on that front as well, guys! Comm importing was super fast.

We'll be importing the main and logs comms over immediately, but please finish up any ongoing threads you have, or work out an assumed end on them & comment OOCly to end the thread as a reminder BEFORE the next two weeks! We'll be doing an additional and final import roundup on the evening of the 14th, and after that any new activity will be lost. We ask that all NEW posts/logs/etc activity are moved immediately to the DW communities, as well!

For this move, the only thing you guys will need to do is join the communities, and comment to the taken list on DW (we're leaving old comments up as a way to cross-reference who's moved and who hasn't, so please don't delete them! we'll do that to keep track of who we have, who we need to remind we're moving, and find out who's dropping.) We'll have open membership for a week to make sure everyone can join without hassle, and then we'll turn it back to moderated. START MOVING NEW ACTIVITY OVER IMMEDIATELY! You can also pick up where you've left off on threads on DW, from the imported LJ posts/comments, if you'd like! Then you won't have to worry about a cutoff.

So, first off, apologies for the disappearance. Work and holidays did a horrible combo number that pretty much killed any free time I might have had. On top of that, I'm getting ready to move, so preparing for that has been fun. Hopefully now I'll be around more, but possibly not as much as I like. The whole getting ready to move thing is going to quickly turn into "moving," around the middle of January, and I've got a ton of stuff to take care of in the meantime. Ideally, I'll be slow posting with a few days of non-posting (Jan 2-5, for example), but worst case everyone can pretend that ninjas ninja in snow.

This only affects Kakashi here.

So... I haven't been really tagging because of a really bad cold I've had since Christmas, and as I've now developed a bad cough that kept me up half the night, this is probably going to last longer.

When I have sudden moments of clarity, I'll tag as much as I can. I don't plan on dropping current threads, and I'll be checking the comms, so I won't fall out of the loop. But, I won't be joining anything new until I feel better. However, if you want to handwave anything, please feel free to say so. Or backdate. I'm cool with that too.

This affects Ivan Karelin who will be patrolling the outside just before nightfall, making sure Pao-Lin is all right and possibly getting hit in the face in the process, and checking out books on Japan when not and Reki Fujio who will be looking at the history books in the library.

Hello everyone! As promised, here's the post with our plans and reasoning laid out for everyone to read and consider, as well as a poll to decide where to go from here. We realize, of course, that this is a heavy decision to make, and for many it may feel premature-- but please consider the downtime for a good handful of players unable to access LJ at all, those whose RP drives have been killed with the drama, and those too tired from the holidays to even bother. The sooner we can find a solution, the sooner we can get the game back underway.

I've gathered a number of resources already, from persuasive essays, to guides on what's the same and what's different, to some quick fixes to make Dreamwidth a little more comfortable for LJ users, like a code that changes the color scheme to match the pre-88 LJ scheme. I hope they'll help!

But first off, our reasoning. (And the other mods are welcome to add in their two cents! I'm mostly summarizing what I remember and my own reasons.) Personal feelings on LJ aside, the technical issues are getting to be overwhelming. Many modly duties are being hindered with LJ's failure to deliver notifications in large quantities, a fair-sized chunk of our players are having trouble accessing LJ if they can at all, and the workarounds simply aren't working half of the time. The shoddy servers and DDoS attacks happen too frequently that it affects activity across the board, and with the lack of subject titles that LJ's been very clear about not returning, everything's suddenly ten times harder on our end.

And another great point is that the owners of DreamWidth and current staff? Were the previous owners/staff members of LJ! They have plenty of experience in journaling sites, and if anyone was around long enough for the pre-SUP days, you'd remember that LJ was actually pretty keen then, and very stable. But including personal feelings, Livejournal is no longer trustworthy-- with the way they've been treating their users, laughing and insulting everyone for getting mad at huge changes that affect such a large portion of their userbase, it's shaky grounds on whether legitimate issues that arise would be treated properly. We also don't want to see our playerbase hurt in any way or unable to even enjoy the game, or their money going to waste or trivialized. Plenty of people have gone into the pros and cons on both side, and they probably did it a lot better than I could! So have a look-see at the options available, what Dreamwidth has to offer, the changes LJ have made and further plan on making, and please do consider your choices carefully. DW also has easy links to their guiding principles, diversity statements, privacy policy, and finally their terms of service. Long story short: they welcome everyone, and they despise censoring, which is why they flipped paypal the bird trying to set up an account and paypal wanted them to censor a lot of content.

It can and will be hard to make the right choice-- and the kicker is that we won't be able to please everyone no matter which we choose, no matter how hard we try. So the truth is, we ARE going to lose some players. We AREN'T all going to come to a unanimous decision. But we do need to seriously consider both sides and try to make the most educated decision.

Our gameplan is this: put the game on a hiatus for the two~three weeks or so it should take to import all of the communities over, and allow all of the players to finish their threads or assume an end before we import savevoid and exitvoid (which would be done last). In the meantime, we'll be running memes, plotting, and keeping everyone more than busy with a number of game mechanics updating, discussions, and an all-around overhaul with what we've learned and gathered in feedback on how EV is run.

We already had these plans for the New Year, so it's nothing new cropping up due to moving! It's actually just giving us the time we need to install everything, as well. Things that are changing/updating are: the way missions are structured (to be easier/more flexible and creative), updating locations, fiddling with the map and size of the island so each side of the octagon isn't two miles long (shhhh this has been totally handwaved ICly already), installing location heads permanently, introducing alternate ways to earn tokens, and so on!

The sooner we can import, the better for us, personally. We'd love to get a fresh start some time in January, and have a fully-functioning game back as soon as possible. We understand that many of you have paids-- but we can't wait for everyone's paids to run out, either. That could be as little as a month or two, or as much as six months to a year. The move itself will be fairly painless and without much effort on your part.

We've already had a player step up and offer to pay the difference on anyone's paid time lost if anyone needs the assistance, and to help transition to DW with the move. We have a number of players familiar with DW already and handy with code who would be willing to help move over character info posts. We'll have to redesign the coding on our end as well to comply with DW's use of the updated and streamlined HTML guidelines that LJ has yet to comply with. This WILL be a community effort, but it's nothing that we won't have settled in a week tops on the player side of things! And these are all things that can be done during the hiatus. You're all wonderful, talented people and the entire purpose of a community is to band together and help each other out. I know that when it comes down to it, we can make a move clean, efficient, and quick-- and everyone will help each other out if anyone has problems.

Hello hello again EV! I am Havok and you may have seen me very very briefly here last app round in which I attempted to play Walter Sullivan from Silent Hill... and well, clearly that didn't go over so well because he shut up and apparently wasn't ready for a formal game yet.

BUT instead I offer you Billy Coen here, adding another soul to the awesome Resident Evil cast! He's from Resident Evil Zero, a prequel to the first game in which this handsome devil and cute little Rebecca Chambers become best bros and fight a weird guy made of leeches.

He's kind of cold and guarded, so it may take him a while to warm up, but trust me, he's a good guy. I'm gonna try to get him IC-intro'd tonight or tomorrow, so he can start having fun with everyone soon!

So I redid her permissions to include a form on glamour, which in her canon is a form of mind control. Jessica is becoming extremely hungry in EV. So she's going to start biting people and erasing the memory.

So who wants in? The characters are certainly able to notice the marks, though she's probably not always going to bite their necks. I also don't want her to get like hunted for this. So she's not going to pick humans that would do something extreme (not that humans can do much against her in the first place).

So in lieu of that, Tonks is going on autopilot for roughly a month (maybe less, idk yet). We'll see what happens, but until then, rough godmoding rights go to Harry's player. Velma's player and Morgana's player too if need be. Just saying she's been around would be awesome. ♥ Though, if you really need me for something, hit me up, and I'll see what I can do.

NEXT UP is a hiatus thing for Arie, player of Remus Lupin. The hard drive to her laptop went kaput, and she's ordered a new one. Until that arrives, though, she's stuck in RP phone land, and once again, THANK YOU LJ, that's gonna be hard. So a hiatus for her two weeks tops. Remus will be ~around~ but not... really.

Hello everyone, and congratulations on surviving the night! Welcome to Day 25. The snow has mostly stopped, but it's still drifting down intermittently and settling about knee-deep. You can still get around, and characters will awaken to the ambient sound of electricity running and lights flickering occasionally-- it isn't 100%, but the network is back on shaky legs enough for messages to usually get through. It may still go down now and then or sound fuzzy, but anything's an improvement. Charge up your electronics and get warm by the heaters!

On the announcement side of things, a quick rundown of a few OOC things! But first an IC thing-- the 12 days has been updated for one final time, with the inclusion of one more new monster, and two new areas! Check it out. ♥

Now, on the OOC side of things! First off, there will be NO activity check this month due to LJ's immense dickery. We understand things have been tumultuous and don't expect anyone to shuffle around for a/c.

Secondly, we've reviewed the poll and for now, we've turned on custom comment pages. As word has spread around already, there are various things you can do if you don't like them! But this way at least it's minor inconveniences and it WILL work for everyone. You can install a personal style on your character journals to the minimalism style, and find the stylish/greasemonkey add-on that tacks on ?style=mine to the end of all your URLs and view pages that way, for the easiest fix. Otherwise you can add it or ?style=light manually.

On the same vein as that, we've come to a pretty much unanimous mod agreement to move EV over to dreamwidth for a number of reasons. It won't happen immediately or without player input, of course, but we WILL be working on the details and will update when we've been able to further discuss it! This isn't a decision made lightly, but we already had a positive response/suggestions from many of you players that you'd support the move and follow us over. There are a lot of pros on DW compared to the many cons of LJ, but that's neither here or there. We have a system in mind already and we'll definitely be updating to brief you guys on the details further come Tuesday or Wednesday, and to get your input on the plans before deciding for certain. Please do keep an eye out for it!

EDIT: Apologies for the shoddy wording on that, but your mod rushed so she could get some sleep before work hhhhhhhhh anyway! I answered a quick question at the very top of the comments clarifying, but I'll put it here again for ease: we will not be deciding this without player input and it's NOT already cemented or anything, don't panic! We've just seriously considered the suggestions and have started to lay out plans on how it'd work and what the pros/cons would be IF we do the move, which we do all feel is best for the game.

For example, our consideration has extended to finishing up threads and logs here or giving you ample time to work out assumptions with your partners-- Dreamwidth DOES have entire journal/community import options, which is very quick and easy. The only thing is, they're so busy right now that there's a long queue of import requests and it takes 2.5 days to get to them for now, and you can only do one at a time... We have six communities. So it'd take 15 days to move everything over, and we don't want to lose anyone in import limbo or have to import again after all's said and done, so we've already worked out what order to import the comms in as well, with savevoid and exitvoid coming last to be the most up-to-date and include everyone's threads. We wanted to do a two week hiatus for the entire game and pick up where we left off during the move, but keep you guys entertained and with something to do by running memes on the crack comm. Anyway, stressing again that nothing's set in stone-- it's just airing ahead of time that we feel it'd be best and we're going to lay out a plan and show you, the players, and see if it's something you'd want to do.! Hope that makes more sense.

I am bringing you this... cheerful young man, by the name of Terrance Ward. (Though he generally prefers to go by his codename - Trauma - these days.)

I understand you had one of these in game before (in fact fairly recently, ahaha I will learn to read taken lists properly one day) and I don't know much about how they played him or anything, but here is the 411. Trauma is, in essence, a fear demon. He sense fears and turns into them - I hear you got a monster in fairly recently who bears an incredible similarity to him in this regard, so at least he'll have some friends! He is also an unrealistically young and competent counsellor, coming at you fresh with a whole host of guilt issues about being forced to abuse his position (and other people...)

Also he is a lovely, caring person but he never smiles. Never.

Anyway, this is Icey (Riku-mun) bringing in her second (and kind of also her third) charcter, Enzan Ijuuin from Rockman.exe/Megaman NT Warrior. He is 13, vice president of his father's company, very competent at his job considering that he also works for the Net Police on the side and therefore not all to happy with Kernos. Busy schedules and all that, so if they wanted a tester they should have made an appointment. :|

He comes in a package with his Net-Navi/closest companion/pretty-much-other-half Blues.exe, who will be equally unhappy for similar reasons.

I'm not sure when I'm going to IC intro him, though I hope to get that up within the next week. If anyone wants to plot anything with him or Riku, just contact me through AIM (Fortunelady Icey), plurk (iceyly) or just send me a PM or comment in one of the journals! ^^

heya evvers, I know I haven't been around a lot with this girl but I'm afraid I have to board the hiatus train while the christmas period is still around and draining me dry. that, and being sick with the worst cold in the universe doesn't help but don't worry!! she'll still be here with her nagging mother but while this is happening her body isn't taking too well to the weather and is, like me, sick. only in her case it's worse because she's a weak little duckling so I leave all godmode rights to sho. HI I'm Doku and I play a brat that plays with metal and sucks on breasts. This is Sasha from The Qwaser of Stigmata, perhaps more commonly known as Seikon no Qwaser. Yes. That show. Except not, because I play from the manga version which is vastly different from the anime. hey, i've been asked to put up a hiatus notice for anna, who plays euphemia (bloodypacifism) from code geass. i don't know the details, nor what they want done with euphemia whilst they're on hiatus, so i'm sure they'll sort it out when they return!
