In this challenging year, the RefugeeOne community redoubled efforts to show newcomers they are welcome here. We served 3,347 newcomers from 84 countries in FY2025 – helping them find stability and belonging. Every day at RefugeeOne, we experience the profound power of community as newcomers rebuild their lives and come to call Chicago home. We’ve worked tirelessly to rebuild the refugee resettlement program and extend assistance to other newcomers – we served more than 3,700 individuals in FY24! Support from the RefugeeOne community allowed us to rise to occasion despite challenging circumstances and events. We built a new headquarters and doubled our staff. Together, we adapted services due to COVID-19, welcomed hundreds of Afghans who were abruptly evacuated from Kabul, began serving Ukrainians fleeing the Russian invasion, and welcomed additional refugees from 62 other countries.
