Are you generating copy with AI that sounds like a robot? Let's fix that!

It happened to me again! I went to bed at 11pm. At 2am, I jolt awake. My mind is racing, listing everything I have to do for the next week.

And. I. Can’t. Turn. It. Off.

I think I drifted into a light sleep again. But at 4:30am, I can’t stay in bed any longer. I have to tackle the gremlins. I hope I can take a nap later, but I usually get a second wind in the afternoon when I should be catching up on zzz’s. 

Does that ever happen to you? 

When I’m working on adrenaline instead of a peaceful calm, it’s easy for me to turn to my trusty AI to lend a hand for the writing tasks. I mean, AI is never tired. 

And even though no beep-bop robot helped with this email, I’m not gonna get mad at myself for using a tool that’s way faster than me.

The problem is the output. In a sleepy haze, what it delivers sounds almost profound. 

Not this, but that. 

The rule of 3 overload.

The staccato fragmented phrases.

The content is decent. But it sounds…manufactured. Oh! Because it IS!

AI doesn’t think. It just mimics patterns.

And none of AI’s patterns are inherently BAD. But when they’re stacked on top of each other without any feeling, they read like they were generated from C3P0 instead of a human.

That’s the difference between writing that’s generated and writing that’s crafted.

I’m reading more and more backlash against relying on AI for writing. I know for me personally when I read something that’s obviously from a machine instead of someone with a pulse, I’m out. Even if I respect the author.

It’s just…LAZY to lean that heavily on AI and not bring your own soul to your writing.

In my “I’m mad as hell and I’m not going to take it anymore” phase recently, I pulled together the offending AI patterns I see repeated online.
